Chart Room - Vermilion, OH — Restaurant in Vermilion

I’d give this place a few more weeks to hit their stride. Service was great. Piped in music was really loud and annoying - rock music. Way too loud for a joint that has no sound deadening. Someone may have complained because after a while, they did seem to turn it down and change it to a country music station. Generally, a very loud atmosphere even only about 1/3 filled with patrons because it’s just concrete floors and tables.

Even though they weren’t very busy, it did take quite awhile for the food to come out. Again, I would attribute this to new staff learning how to make things and how to figure out timing.

Generally strikes me as probably mostly a bar /drinking kind of place. Very limited parking out front.

I’m a pretty easygoing customer. The server actually brought out a different entrée than what I ordered. They duplicated what my husband ordered. Since it had already taken a long time for the food to come out and she was so sweet about everything, I didn’t say anything about it and just ate it. I figured there was either a screwup in how the order was taken or how it happened in the kitchen. But no reason to hassle these people as they’re just starting to get underway here. Food flavor and presentation was good.

There is a big field across the street next to the putt putt course and I don’t know if you’re allowed to park there when the parking lot or the restaurant is full. Restaurant only seems to have about 10 or 12 parking spots.

I hope they do well as it seems there are a few new places popping up...

Very loud, live music. Not my preference, but the crowd was engaged, excited, and whistling.

Wide selection of drinks, but no stout. Still a new menu.

Limited selection of food, mostly flatbread options. Tourist priced food, definitely more than we expected for the setting.

Pictured is the gyro (not bad, but not better than Arby's), the flatbread pesto, and the Islander Margarita. Good food, but not gourmet.

Really, really...

This was our first time at the Chart Room.. atmosphere is fun.. love looking out over the river.. great outdoor seating are too. The cocktails were very good, my fav was the Islander Margarita .. service was friendly and attentive. The food was upscale bar .. the flatbreads were off the chart especially the chipotle chicken.. still wanting to try the Greek burger! This will be a definite return visit place!...
