After going to the same barbershop for years, one day i decided that i needed a change. I had hoped that Lafayette barbershop in vernon, ct could be my new go-to barbershop. For the past year, it had been. Until recently...
I no longer know who I am going to see working here when I go. There has been no consistent quality since Vinny left some months ago. Lynn and Virginia have both given me great haircuts in the past, but now, I just don't know who is going to be cutting my hair. The new guy straight up almost buzzed me when I asked for a trim, and you can't go back once those shears take a clump off. I would've maybe had a better experience if the staff could've been the least bit personable. 2 people chilling and 1 person actually working; nobody talking. It was the strangest haircut experience, ever. I felt like just another 18 bucks walking out the door. How can you expect to have longevity with any customers, if you can't even have longevity with the staff? Shame on the management, cover up your chairs and turn off...
Read moreI lived in Vernon 4 years and was Happy when I found this Barber shop. Until I got a Haircut and got a small Gash in my Hair before my Aunt's Funeral. It wasn't that bad so I called the next morning and told them. The Barber tried to lure me down there telling me he'd fix it but when I said my back hurt and I didn't feel like walking down there at the time. He told me I didn't want to come because I stole his Nintendo when I used there bathroom. I basically got Profiled for telling the barber I was from Hartford while getting my haircut. So I payed 18$ plus tip to get a gash in my head and accused of stealing. I've been calling still since then just for them to atleast fix the gash in my head( why would a thief call and try to come back anyway?) But nobody cares about making this right with me or my head. Unprofessional and...
Read moreThe same woman has been cutting my hair since I was 18 (now 31), but I now live an hour away from her salon and my personal schedule has gotten very hectic. I needed to go somewhere closer to home. I was so nervous to go to someone else, but I keep my hair very short and upkeep is monthly. My husband had gotten his hair cut here once and it was amazing, so I thought "Why not?" I'd also never had a man cut my hair nor have I gone to a barbershop ever. I didn't know what to expect.
The vibe is welcoming, nobody made me feel awkward about being a woman at a barbershop (not that there is anything inherently wrong about it, I'm just a socially anxious butterfly!), and Kenny gives a great cut. I'm VERY impressed and would highly recommend anyone come here for their maintenance needs!
P.S. The straight razor is a GAME...
