Even 1 start is too many. I decided yesterday that I would start my search for the perfect dress. So, I went online to find out the hours. Google hours say she is open at 8am. A picture on google says she is open from 12 - 7pm Tuesday (it was Tuesday) I called her at 12:38pm. On her answering machine she states her hours, apparently she opens at 12 however she didn't answer the phone. OK, maybe she was with someone. No worries I'll leave a message. Last sentence on the answering machine is something like don't leave a message, they are not checked. OK, so I didn't leave a message. I called back two more times that day, with no answer. I wanted to ask if we need an appointment, however, I couldn't ask her. So my 3 bridesmaids and I headed over there. We walked into a house, with a 3 season porch. When you walk in, the walls are filled with doll dresses, a little confusing but ok.
As soon as we stepped into the next section of the house we were greeted by a lady. (She would not let us past that entrance, since we had 4 people we were barely in the door.) She then said first of all can you shut that door, well that was a struggle cause she wouldn't let us in and my daughter was holding a car seat, so we scrunched together so she had room to shut the wooden door, even though the screen door was already shut. Then she asked how she could help us. I said I'm here to try on wedding dresses. She looked at me and said let me explain how this works. We have dresses here that people will be wearing down the aisle. So what you need to do is go to David's or Vera's and try on dresses to figure out what you like and don't like because they have sample dresses, not dresses you will wear down the aisle. I have to admit I was quite frustrated. Had she answered my call to begin with, I wouldn't have gathered my bridesmaids (One from DeForest) and went to try on dresses. So I said to her, you should really put that out on your voice mail so people like us don't waste their time coming in; Thank you for your time! Irritated, I turned and stared to walk out. She then proceeded to tell me that she doesn't have facebook. I said I didn't say facebook, you have an answering machine or voice mail, I know cause I called and you didn't answer. She then said, you should have called during regular business hours then. I told her that I did call, 3 times and that each time I got her voice mail and couldn't leave a message. She said, you didn't call. (Really? You are calling a potential customer a liar?) I said Yes I did, she said then it must have been outside of normal business hours. I said nope first call was at 12:38, The second and third were after that so it was during normal business hours. She then said well if you would have looked on the door you would have seen I had an eye doctor appointment today. (I'm sorry but how can I look at the door when I'm in Madison at work?) Clearly she has a voice mail so she could put on there that she would be gone for an appointment & her policies of going else where first. I said I'm sorry, but you have already lost my business it doesn't matter what you say. She followed us outside & continued to argue with me. I said I don't care, I'm not going to argue with you, I will not return. She then slammed the door as we were getting into our cars. Very rude & disrespectful.
Don't waste your time at this place. If your dress is here on consignment, I'd get it back because she isn't even letting people in the door to see the dresses, much less try on or purchase. By the looks of what I could see, there wasn't much room to walk through much less shop and try on a dress. When you search google her little description of her shop says " Low-key consignment shop carrying designer wedding gowns & dresses, plus in-house alterations." Wait what? low-key, in whose terms? This was a horrible way to start out my dress shopping for my wedding day. Thankfully David's Bridal was more than happy to fit us in without an appointment and I was able to find a...
Read moreAwful. I went in during prom season just to look at her selection of wedding dresses. Not try on, not be fitted, just browse. No one was in the store! She didnt want to be inconvenienced by moving a rack of prom dresses that were blocking the rack of wedding dresses and literally refused me service! She said i should have called first despite being open! I live 40 min away and made the trip just to see her dresses! I won't...
Read moreI would highly recommend Just For You for all your alteration needs. I purchased a sample sized wedding dress which was far too large for me. Beverly's quote for the alterations was spot on and half of what the other seamstresses I spoke to quoted. The dress looked beautiful and fit perfectly. She also made some minor alterations to a bridesmaids dress for me and that was also well done for a...
