Dorn Ace Hardware — Local services in Verona

I am a huge fan of Ace, but I am dissappointed by the Ace in Verona. I have visited several times. It's design is that of a suburbian neighborhood Ace with typical sets of tools, hardware, and home improvement products. The cashiers greet me kindly, when they greet me. One look a the shelves tells me there is something wrong. In nearly every aisle about half of the hooks are empty. Price tags are old and faded. Products have thick layers of dust. I get the feel that the store has not kept up with the times or with the products its customers want and is losing significantly to Home Depot and Blain's. Given the state of the store, I can easily see why. I don't feel I get a value for what I'm buying, there is little expertise available, and I typically can't find what I need.
