I am a computer technician for 30 years in Dallas, Tx. Went to my customers location in Tyler, Texas (150 miles away for me) on March 1, 2016, and determined that Windows needed to be reinstalled. Since HP does not carry a RECOVERY CD on older computers such as theirs, we ordered a set from COMPUTER SURGEONS (authorized re-seller of HP products). So, when the DISKS came in, the customer put disk ONE in the computer, and after running the program, she said she had say an error on screen, saying this disk will not work for this computer. On Sat, March 7, 2016, when I returned to this customers site, I used the disks, and saw the same error message. When contacting Hewlett Packard tech support about this, they told me that I had the WRONG SET OF RECOVERY CD's. When talking to MICHAEL (the owner) at COMPUTER SURGEONS, I told him that "You shipped the customer the WRONG SET OF CD's, as per HP", and he said we had to ship these disks back FIRST, and they would ship the right ones. Time was of the essence, and now this is going on TWO WEEKS. When contacting this MICHAEL previously, he said, when seeing this error, you have to be "HP CERTIFIED TECH", in order to use a program called a DMI TOOL, because the hard drive in the computer, has an "HP TATOO", which prevents one from installing on a Hard Drive, which is TOTAL BS. He also said that I could get a new HARD DRIVE for this customer, and it would install just fine, which, as it turns out, IS NOT THE CASE, because, according to HP, we received the WRONG RECOVERY DISKS. So, basically, this MICHAEL was just giving me a line of BS, since he already collected his money from the customer, and after I started explaining what he needed to do for this customer, he started be-littling me, to the point we ended up in an ARGUMENT over the phone, in front of my customer. He was NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL. ORDER #: 72175274. Package received from Computer Surgeons was A5U99AV. My complaint is of the nature that the customer needed to have this problem resolved as quickly as possible, and the expected time to resolve this would have been 4 days, from May 1, to May 5, but as it turns out, because of the incompetence of COMPUTER SURGEONS, this will be going on TWO WEEKS. My customer needed the computer so that she could complete her online degree from an ONLINE UNIVERSITY where she is getting her Doctorate in Psychology. SOLUTION Because of the gasoline involved for me and my company, and the time waisted needlessly, I am requesting a FULL REFUND from COMPUTER SURGEONS, and also the proper media (RECOVERY CD's) sent to my customer, free of charge, because of the hassles, and the RUDENESS of this MICHAEL, someone needs to look into the BUSINESS PRACTICES of this business, and also a complaint filed against them with HEWLETT PACKARD, since they are an AUTHORIZED RESELLER OF HP PRODUCTS. Contacted HP about this company and filed a complaint with them. They were very distressed to hear this. I have also filed a COMPLAINT with the KENTUCKY BBB and the KENTUCKY STATE ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE. What ever happened to being...
Read moreI came across these guys after a painstaking search for info on my old Compaq Presario 7ap195 machine. I kid you not there is very little info out there about those old rigs for some reason. Anywho, I lost my all of my old factory restore discs through the years passing and unfortunately my office flooding a few years ago as well. Fast forward to present I ordered up their Restore Cd with the complete OEM image for my particular system. I was able to get this beast back up and factory refreshed. She's running just like it was new off of the shelf now. I am well pleased with this product and I also will be using other Recovery media in the future. Best part is I only had one corrupted HDD to use for this project and the program actually didn't even have a hiccup wiping the drive either. All is well and now it's on to refreshing the front plastics. Another fun project on it's own. Do you guys offer that...
Read moreAt least two years ago, I took an old computer tower to Computer Surgeons as it needed a Windows upgrade that I couldn’t perform, and I was thinking it was time for a new machine but wanted to ask, as it was a I7 with strong specs when it was new. They gave me feedback and offered to upgrade the machine and to add a SSD and I think some additional RAM. I authorized the work and then… wow was it fast and worked great! The price was fair and service completed on time. Very professional and friendly service. Now two years plus later the machine is still...
