I am writing to formally express my extreme dissatisfaction and concern regarding the deplorable conditions and inadequate patient care I experienced and observed during my recent visit to your facility. My visit, along with that of my wife, highlighted numerous systemic failures that jeopardize patient well-being and demonstrate a severe lack of organization.
The issues I witnessed are extensive and multifaceted, but the most glaring problem is the severe overcrowding. The hospital, and in particular the Emergency Room, appears to be operating far beyond its capacity. The ER waiting area is woefully small, forcing loved ones of patients to wait outside in the elements. This is not only inhumane but also a significant concern for those who are elderly, frail, or simply unable to withstand the intense heat. On the day of my visit, with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit, there was no form of shade or covering for these individuals, a fact that is both dangerous and unconscionable.
The wait times are inexcusably long, a clear symptom of the overcrowding and understaffing. I personally waited for nine hours for a room, only to witness a gentleman who had been waiting for eighteen hours finally receive one. Such extensive delays can have serious consequences for patients and indicate a complete breakdown in the intake and admission process.
I also observed a significant lack of coordination among staff. It seems that "one hand doesn't know what the other is doing," leading to confusion, inefficiency, and further delays in care. The nurses, while likely overworked, appear to be under immense stress, which unfortunately manifests in poor bedside manner. I understand the pressures of the job, but there is no excuse for the lack of empathy and professionalism I witnessed. In one particularly egregious incident, a nurse treated my wife like an "escaped convict" when she needed to go to the main lobby. This kind of dehumanizing behavior is unacceptable and completely contrary to the compassionate care a hospital is supposed to provide.
The physical environment is also a major problem. Seating is a scarcity, and people are forced to sit on floors, in hallways, and wherever they can find a space. This unorganized and chaotic environment adds to the stress of an already difficult situation and is indicative of a complete lack of foresight and planning on the part of the administration.
In conclusion, the issues at Desert Valley Hospitalâovercrowding, overworked staff, poor communication, unacceptable wait times, and a complete lack of patient-centered care and respectâare not isolated incidents but rather systemic failures. I urge you to conduct a thorough review of your operations, invest in a more organized system, and ensure that your staff is adequately trained and supported to provide the dignified and professional care that every...

I give one star because the emergency room experience was actually very good however once admitted into the hospital it quickly turned into a nightmare during which time I was denied medication that I needed to stay alive I was denied access to doctors and completely ignored by the nurse in charge of my care and when I finally did get her to coming to the room she was so hostile and her speech to me was so terrible that my roommate and the bed next to me started crying because she never heard any nurse ever speak to a patient that way and I mean I can't even explain how terrible it was I ended up signing out AMA because they were going to kill me from denying me my medication that I was on a strict regimen to keep myself alive and they simply would not listen or would they page the doctors for confirmation of what my medical condition was and my medications were despite the fact that the doctor had been on the floor all day and had come to see me while I was in the restroom they neglected to inform the doctor that I was out of the restroom and refused to page him so after 24 hours I ended up signing out AMA to save my own life because I had my medications at home. Additionally I was disconnected from fluids and my IV moving while I was unable to eat anything and as I stated my medications that I have to take were denied me for way too long and I was suffering serious effects from not having my medicines I just can't even explain the level of terrible treatment I've never experienced anything like it in any other Hospital.
Its a hosp.long waits, unorganized from most patients pt.of view. For my complicated situation and cancer related issues they did a pretty good game of catch up.Disapointing but sadly the norm ive found ,multiple doctors and too many specialists that dont communicate w ea. other are a BIG problem.i believe putting less experienced young assistants at the crucial 1st stages of diagnosing an ER issue is not the best way to get to the helping stage and relieving the chaos. Mine was a prime example.my problem was major diarihha for 7/8 days and serious dehydration. So i waited and waited for the second round of blood to be drawn to be determined by results of the 1st vile w a mandatory 1hour .i believe if id been put on hydrating iv after the 1st blood draw the 2nd draw of 3 viles would have been possible and saved hours of back and forth due to lack of blood availible because i was so depleted .my blood pressure was 77/ 56 or even lower at one point. Then i was found to be really low on potasium, needed to keep bp up.an iv was added to saline ,told it my pinch and i scrreamed at the entrance.worst pain ever.the nurse thst warned me it might sting was vanished.i was squirming ,crying for help.1 nurse said she was bedding ivs not her thing.then a bored looking asst came and adjusted flow ,didnt help ,he turned it off went for help.thank god he was a team player not like previous passing asst w pillows her only concern. I could go on and on but cudos to most of my team you have jobs i could never do and for those few who have one of these jobs i pray you realize or a supierior sees that you are not able to do this job and need to move on .I am pleased to say God has a sense of humor for sure and Karma is alive and well in the ER ofDesert valley hospital. The gal that couldnt even slow down to help when my pain was Sooo bad because her job that night was pillows/bedding not comprehrnding she was working in a constant cycle of life and death situations as the career path she had chosen!đ´ââ ď¸an hour or so later ,my bp better and waiting to move to ICU for the night here came the diarihha that brought me here in the first place.i have anal cancer and no control over my bowels at all.l let loose at least a quart of dark brown nasty liquid overflowing all potty pads, diaper, rubber sheets etc .lt was going to take a lot of towels, hot water, mopping, and washclothes before id be warm and dry again and a ton of BEDDING.AND guess who was just back from her break and ready for work? God works in mysterious ways.Amen. (...
