My three year old daughter got an infection from a tick bite. She started running a fever Friday night and by Saturday night we were in the emergency room. The PA on duty prescribed an antibiotic to treat the bite and clear the infection. We normally always use Ingles pharmacy in Temple (they are the best) but because CVS in VR is a 24 hour pharmacy and because of the late hour and the fact that we were anxious to get her started on the medicine we went with CVS. We drove from the hospital in Bremen to CVS in VR only to be informed that they did not have the medicine in stock and it would be ordered and ready by Monday. This caused stress and anxiety because our baby needed this medicine to get better, but we understood the situation couldn’t be helped so we anxiously waited for Monday to arrive. Two days later, Monday morning, I called the pharmacy and was told the medicine would be ready for pick up after 5:00 pm. So I anxiously waited some more. After 5:00 I drove to CVS, and after waiting about 30 minutes or more in their drive thru line, I was informed by the pharmacist that the medicine was not ready… and not only that, the order had never been placed… imagine my shock and confusion and anger and stress at this news. My baby needed this medicine to get well. When I asked “what should I do???” I was told to call around to other pharmacies to see if they had it in stock and shoved along. After several failed attempts to find this medicine the pharmacist at Ingles in Temple (the best) thoroughly helped me and talked me through everything and researched on his end, finding that the antibiotic brand prescribed was no longer manufactured. Why the PA didn’t know this or why CVS didn’t take the time to look into this for us I guess will always be a mystery to me. After typing the info in his computer he noticed immediately it was no longer made. He went ahead and placed the order for a generic brand of the medicine and is checking with the doctor to make sure the change is ok.
Everyone, please drop this pharmacy and take your business to Thomas at Ingles in Temple. You will be treated with the best care and above-and-beyond help around.
CVS took no care or time to look into this situation for us. How we went from being told by two different employees the medicine would be ready for pick up to the order was never placed is proof CVS has a broken system. Our baby girl still does not have the medicine she needs to get well and won’t have it for a couple of more days now in which time she could get worse. I can not put into words the stress and anger I feel because of this situation. Please do not use this pharmacy. Put them out of business before they cause serious harm through their...
Read moreLooks like our experience was similar to others here, and also similar to what we've seen at our local store. We don't live in the area but only came here because we'd just visited the Immediate Care clinic south of I-20 and our local pharmacies were already closed. The wait time was reasonable but after we picked up I realized they'd only given us 2 of the 3 prescriptions - and the one missing was an antibiotic, the most important of the three. I tried to call and find out if this was a mistake or if maybe the doctor had called and cancelled it for some reason, but the automated system would not let us through to a live person. We circled back and returned to the store, only to be told that "Oh, we're out of that." They couldn't tell us this when we picked up?? Even more if a store is out of something as important as an antibiotic, the appropriate thing would be to find out if another CVS in the area has it in stock or otherwise how quickly they could get it to us. We ended up having the NP transfer the prescription to our local pharmacy and picked it up the next morning. We have a CVS in our town but I don't trust them anymore because similar things have happened there. From what I've read here, I'm wondering if it will take a lawsuit, because one of their customers died, because he/she was strung along for weeks before they could get their medication, for CVS to...
Read moreI went to pick up a couple of prescriptions for my sister. Her doctor called them in at 2pm. I finally made it to the CVS in Villa Rica at 9pm. I was the only person in the pharmacy line. There was 4 pharmacy employees behind the counter. I stood there for 7 minutes without anyone acknowledging me. I finally had to ask for some acknowledgment. When I gave them my sisters name they told me the prescription wasn’t ready. I was confused because it was called in HOURS ago. When I asked why it wasn’t ready she said there was 70 people ahead of me and that they were two days behind. I asked why they didn’t call to let her know, she said they don’t do that. Here’s a thought CVS. If you can’t handle the demand or don’t have the staffing to do the job then stop taking the prescriptions. You have stolen the opportunity for my sister to get her medicine elsewhere today… all because you neglected to inform her and I’m sure several other patients of your issues. This place is unreal. I honestly don’t know why they even bother anymore. Close your doors. Villa Rica Drugs is the winning pharmacy in Villa Rica. CVS and their rude pharmacy...
