Heather Burns, the owner of The Knotty Sheep, clearly knows her stuff - she’s knowledgeable, passionate, and it shows in how she runs both her shop and this class. The “Teach Me to Knit! 1” session had six students, and by the end, we had all picked up the basics. It was a fun and welcoming environment, and I really admire seeing an independent, woman-owned business thriving.

That said, I realized knitting is a bit harder than I expected! Personally, I think I would have benefited more from a one-on-one class, as the in-store setting (with customers coming in and out) made it a little harder for me to focus. But the other students seemed to really enjoy the group dynamic, so that may just be a personal preference.

Despite the challenge, I walked away with the skills I need to complete my goal: knitting a scarf in time for a special event in November. So all in all - mission accomplished, and I’d definitely recommend the class to beginners looking for a supportive, local place to...

I love buying yarn here! The owner has always been incredibly engaging and helpful in helping me choose the right yarns for my projects. I'm kind of in between beginner and intermediate in terms of crocheting, and I've never felt judged or talked down to for asking my questions. The owner has a great eye for color! And there's a great selection of colors and price points that allow for maximum flexibility with any project.

I also like that there's a community bin or yarns and tools to engage with as needed. It gives the store a bit of a social edge to it which I find sweet. I feel like I learn so much here by just purchasing yarns, I can't imagine how educational the classes they hold are, hoping to...

This is my favorite local yarn store! Heather is AMAZING!!! She super nice and so helpful! She has a beautiful selection of yarn. There is literally something for everyone from wanting the fanciest yarn to cotton. She carries a wide variety of price ranges, types of fibers, etc. She has a lovely variety of needles, hooks, bags, etc. I always leave with a bag or two of beautiful selections!!!
