I am writing this review to express serious concerns regarding the management practices at this Walla Walla Burlington location. It is extremely troubling to witness the impact at the workplace where a manager is allowed to retaliate against employees without any apparent accountability—especially when multiple employees have reported similar experiences and expressed fear of retaliation and losing their jobs. No employee should ever feel intimidated or forced to “walk on eggshells” simply to perform their job.
Additionally, it is concerning that this manager appears to selectively determine which employees receive their PTO payout upon termination. Several instances suggest inconsistencies in how PTO is processed, with some employees being denied payout under the explanation that “circumstances are different.” This lack of transparency, fairness, and adherence to policy raises significant questions about the integrity of the management at this location.
It is deeply concerning that Burlington would allow a member of management to operate the store when there are reasonable suspicions of alcohol use while on duty. As a customer, it is extremely unsettling to smell alcohol on an employee—especially one who is expected to set an example of professionalism and leadership. Situations like this raise serious questions about store oversight, employee conduct, and customer safety. Even more troubling is that other employees, including fellow managers , have reported their concerns, yet those complaints were dismissed or disregarded. When multiple staff members raise the same issue and no action is taken, it reflects a serious failure in oversight and accountability.
It is equally disheartening that an employee who contributed to recovering stolen merchandise—saving the store a substantial amount of money—could still face allegations, termination, treated unfairly and poorly despite clear evidence, footage, reports, and witnesses supporting their actions. Situations like this reflect poorly on leadership and the value placed on honesty, dedication, and employee contributions.
I sincerely hope that Burlington conducts a thorough and comprehensive investigation—one in which no detail is overlooked and no concern is dismissed. It is important that every individual involved in this pattern of inappropriate or wrongful behavior is held fully accountable. Addressing these issues proactively would demonstrate the company’s commitment to fairness and integrity and may prevent the situation from escalating toward potential legal action.
It is disappointing to see a newly established retail location operating under such conditions, and I hope meaningful corrective action is taken to ensure a safe, fair, and professional work environment for all employees...
Read moreLove that we have a Burlington here in Walla Walla! I've been shopping at Burlington Coat Factory since I lived in the Portland area 17+ years ago and has always been a go to spot! Only thing I would say is I wish there was more of my size (XXL)T shirts, sweatshirts, sweats, and athletic shorts for Men. Last time I was in there I couldnt find any athletic shorts or sweats in XXL at all, and there was barely any shirts in XXL?? Also, niether Ross or Marshals carry very many XXL in Men's either, so it would be smart if Burlington did to attract more customers needing those sizes. If there was a bigger selection of XXL at Burlington, it would make me a happy customer. It goes fast since there isn't very much of it in the first place, so please order more XXL! ...
