Google says: “Riki Dalal gowns are hand-made by the top seamstresses in Israel”.

Yet, I am less than 20 days away from my wedding, in tears, spending $1200 to fix the wedding dress that just arrived.

Sophia is the front desk employee at this location, she reports to a woman named Limor. If you are dissatisfied or upset you can count on the manager to call you with 0 resolution, act dumb, and tell you all the reasons how it is your fault.

My initial appointments with Sophia were great. She made everything seem so easy, she led me to believe I could trust her and Riki Dalal. BIG MISTAKE. Huge.

Sophia took my measurements and advised me to go with a ready made dress size despite my reservations and desire to pay for a custom made dress. She said that the custom made gown wouldn’t arrive in time.

She told me to get a size 6, but the size 6 was big all over. I tried on the size 4 they had, it fit great everywhere but my waist. So I lost the 4 centimeters needed.

I also asked for RD to add sleeves to my gown. They took measurements of my arms and entire body. I signed their contract and paid the deposit…the gown arrived a few days ago. Upon arrival I immediately noticed that my request to change the lining in the dress had not been fulfilled. Sophia told me to buy a slip on Amazon for my $3000 dress. She tried to tell me that her contract didn’t say anything about changing the slip. Luckily my mom is a witness to that request.

My mom & I went to RD in Walnut Creek this past Saturday to try on the gown. I had to hold back my tears because my mom could see how upset I was. The size 4 is big all over the back, near my bust, and the sleeves they added are ridiculously big. How are there so many areas on this gown that are big, but the king sleeves they added are riding up my armpits?????

Limor called me today to tell me that the contract I signed with Sophia has notes all over it! Saying they advised me to get a size 6.

If the size 4 is big - why would I need the 6? The sleeves and underarm area are riding up my underarms because the top seamstresses in Israel tailored the sleeves wrong.

Limor told me: the sizes of the sample dresses in their store are not accurate! That the dresses are stretched out! Meanwhile they’re not a high traffic store. The door is locked unless you have an appointment.

There are many other wedding gown boutiques in the area whose sample dresses are a bit worn. RD’s sample dresses are very pristine.

All the excuses Limor made to me in the phone today drove me into a frenzy. They’re taking 0 accountability for the botched job they did on my dress.

Now I’m paying over a grand to fix their mistake.

Please DO NOT shop here. If you want to order a dress, customize ANYTHING, Riki Dalal is not capable of delivering. They can’t be trusted.

I have no idea what I am going to do now. They’ve ruined my wedding. My experience as a bride. I’m going to end up spending about $4000 on a dress that’s barely...

I’d really like to rate the experience higher because the sales associate was so kind and the gowns are unique/pretty, but the appointment just ended up taking time from both of us without finding something I liked enough to proceed.

#1 I had to schedule a weekday appointment because I don’t believe in paying for an appointment to be sold on items. The weekend appointment slots require a deposit that will be deducted from your total if you make a purchase. I would expect this if the garments being shopped for were either very specific/custom or the items were not several thousands of dollars. I get that it is to help prevent cancellations or just frivolous appointments, but it put me off.

#2 there was only one person on hand to assist. I had the last appointment of the day and it showed. Again, not a negative mark against the associate. The company should consider staff overlapping and expertise when shopping for this attire.

#3 The store had one dress that fit me. One. I understand that I am a plus size bride, but at least having one or two pieces from the plus collection available or some samples in a size 14, would accommodate larger sizes. I was able to get one straight sized gown on, which was lovely but not for a beach ceremony.

Riki Dalal doesn’t even deserve one star! Horrible experience with this store. I had no problem giving them a deposit for our appointment, as we had a full itinerary for the weekend. Shopping for my daughter’s wedding dress, was a weekend planned out for several weeks before, to ensure that her bridal party would be able to attend. The day before we arrived, I received a confirmation text that we were all set for the appointment with Kelly. The minute I landed, I received a text message from Kelly asking if we could postpone our appointment for the following weekend, because they were changing their location. With 4 bridesmaids, including myself and my daughter who all traveled far to attend this weekend search for the dress, she was expecting us to reschedule for the following weekend! I was so upset, and asked for my deposit back, since we were not able to all come back the following week. After agreeing to the deposit to be refunded back to me within 2-3 days, we are now going on day 13, and I have still not received my deposit back! We ended up saying YES to the dress at Janene’s in Alameda. We had the best experience at Janene’s and I highly recommend not wasting your time...
