Sportsman's Warehouse — Local services in Warminster Township

If I could give 0 stars I would. This was my first time visiting Sportsman’s Warehouse and it will be my last time doing business with them. I saw a firearm I wanted for sale on their website, purchased it online and it said on their website that it would be available for pick up in the store the same day so naturally as any reasonable person would I take a drive up to the store. Drove 1 hour to the store. When I get there I patiently waited to speak with one of the employees manning the gun counter, I explained that I purchased a firearm online and showed them the confirmation email from my order, well the employee proceeds to tell me that although it said online that the firearm was available in stock, he claims he went to the back of the store and they did not have the model I ordered in stock and that it would need to be shipped to the store which was a hilariously incompetent answer as I pointed out the exact same model that I ordered in the glass display case, he made up some excuse how they could not sell me that model even though it was the exact same firearm. Then the manager comes by and tells me they do have that firearm in the back but that my order “did not come through in their system” yet. I asked him how could I have placed an order, paid for it and have a confirmation email only to be told they “couldn’t find my order”. He provided an excuse about their systems being slow, long story short I waited 30 minutes in the store when the manager magically got confirmation that the order came through. Now if these games they played weren’t enough, the sheer level of incompetence in this store, they take the process of completing the 4473 and drag it out intentionally either out of spite or sheer incompetence. I filled out my forms correctly, and it takes three incompetent employees to recheck and then recheck again. The frightening part of all this is that their patrons are so used to having their time wasted, everyone there seemed perfectly fine with having their time wasted while other gun shops in the area gets you out of the door in 20 minutes. Fudd I mean Sportsmans warehouse drags it out to close to 2 hours. The three guys I dealt must’ve had two brain cells between the three of them. 2 hours of my life that I will never get back due to the smooth brains working at this place. At the end of the day , I still won, did not give in to their aggravating incompetence and walked out the door with my firearm. Sportman's Warehouse (SW) is a nightmare to deal with. I wanted to order a $1,000 gun from them in December 2022, but did not want to drive 1.5 hours to the nearest store. The nearest FFL in their database was nearly 1 hour away from me and charges nearly $50 for a transfer. I emailed SW and asked them to add my local FFL. They told me that FFL "applications" were on hold and that I should reach back out after the first of the year. Applications?! These other merchants aren't applying for a job. They don't receive anything from SW nor does it cost SW anything to ship a gun to them. Nonetheless, I did just that and reached back out on 1/2/2023. At that time I was told my FFL would be added to the database in 7-10 business days. As of 1/15 the FFL had not been added so I contacted them again. No response. I contacted them yet again on 2/7. No response. I contacted them again on 4/28 and once again included the FFL's information in my email. I received a response asking for the same information that was in the email they replied to. Nonetheless, I provided this information yet again. Several hours later I received an email that my request to add my local FFL was declined because "An existing FFL has already been established in the area where the FFL is being requested within a 30-minute drive time." The email goes on to direct me to an FFL located nearly 1 hour from my home with a fee that is double that of my local fee.

Now anyone who is familiar with Sportman's Warehouse financial history knows, the company hasn't done well in many, many years and will likely go under in the next ten years. So why would they turn down my $1,000 sale and thousands more just like it? The word on the street is that the new owners are very anti-gun and would rather not sell guns at all. As that political statement would be very bad for business, they instead simply make it so that buying guns is incredibly difficult. Shop somewhere else - anywhere...

Potential customers need to be warned of the intentional deceptive practices of this company. I placed an order for a child carrier and was sent a lower model with no explanation in hopes that I would not notice. I was forced to prove the error with photos before they would authorize a return. It was one week before Christmas yet they refused to send the correct item unless I purchased it again, meaning they would have a double charge on my card, even though the error was theirs. This was an expensive purchase but the 15% discount I originally received made it more affordable. However, the purchase would not go through as their system could not process our credit cards (we tried multiple cards). I was told to wait 48 hours for them to correct the problem but given a deadline of 72 hours to honor my discount. When I had heard nothing in 48 hours I called. I was told there was no record of my original one hour call and the person I said I spoke to does not exist at their company. Yet, this non-existent person on this non-existent call sent me a return label and left an email trail. I spoke to two additional customer service reps who were rude and refused to replace the carrier, even with payment, saying that they did not have them. This clearly was an intentional ‘bait and switch” providing an inferior product instead of what I ordered. Read the reviews, people. This company continues to lie to their customers. They are untrained, rude employees who make no effort to help and deny their intentional deceptive practices. Buy your products elsewhere. They should not be...
