Karen and the entire team at Salon Emage helped make my wedding dreams a reality! Aislinn did my hair for my wedding and a trial ahead of time. Gia did my hair for my engagement photography and my bridal shower. Charlene did my makeup for my bridal shower and my wedding day. Unfortunately I can’t remember which artist did my makeup for my engagement session. We also had Tiffany and Correne on site to do hair and makeup for my family and friends. All of the ladies were exceptional to work with. Karen, the weddings coordinator, was great to email back and forth with to navigate logistics. She helped to make sure that all my questions were answered. She had patience for the things I wanted to know about and made sure to clarify everything. Every time I called or visited the salon, everyone was so welcoming! On the day of my wedding, the ladies arrived early and set up in the room. They only asked for what they needed (like an extra stool that I forgot to put in the room, whoops!) but otherwise got ready and assembled without interrupting any of the music/brunch festivities in the other room. They were all social and friendly, chatting with the girls while they were working on our hair and makeup… asking questions about the wedding, but also finding stuff in common with us! They were all so kind and easy to talk to. It’s important to add that we had two kids- ages 2 and 6. They were GREAT at their makeup and the hair for the 6 year old. They let the 2 year old get her “fakeup” aka lipgloss and blush done in Mom’s lap and she LOVED it. She had the biggest smile on her face. They also worked with the moms to make sure that their preferences were followed and they even did the 6 year old’s hair according to the inspiration picture that she found. It was so kind of them to treat her just like they treated the rest of the girls. It was so important to me that they got to feel like a big part of my special day and I’m grateful to the Salon’s team for making that happen. Between my wedding and the trial, I felt like the staff took detailed notes and were incredibly open to feedback on anything I wanted to change. The makeup and hair held up super well on my wedding day, which was really important to me! I loved how they created a great environment for me to comfortably give any of my honest feedback to them! I’ve been seeing Aislinn for almost a year and she is like a magician with my thick and naturally curly hair. I’ve been having fun with shades of red. I’ve changed it up a little each time and her ability to turn our conversation into perfection is amazing! In more recent visits she put in some highlights using an incredible technique. I get soooo many compliments on my hair and even as it naturally fades it STILL looks amazing. Cut, color, experience and the scalp massage…she gets ALL the stars and then some! The cherry on top is she is such a beautiful person! I added photos to show it freshly done and some are a month or so after. The color looks great regardless of time. YAY!!!

Before I go into why I'm giving Salon Emage a 1 star review. I'd Like to Say Lauren is a great hair dresser and deserves a 5 star review.

I have a 13 month old daughter I don't like taking her to hair appointments because she does not sit well. Normally I have a family member watch her or I schedule hair cuts for Saturday when my husband is home. The person who watches her was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and is extremely ill. My husband and I are going to an out of town family wedding in less than a week so he has been working overtime. Due to all this I decided to make an appointment as early as possible appointment (before the salon became too busy) so I could take my daughter since no one could watch her while I prepped for the wedding. We get there before my appointment at 9a and she's happy, eating breakfast and snacks! My hairdresser was late due to a car accident (which was out of her control and therefore I was not upset about that). I didn't sit down until 9:30a. My daughter started to cry shortly after this and I apologized, but my hairdresser and the ladies beside us said "don't worry about it"

The problem came when I was leaving and an elderly woman from the manicure section came out. She was staring at me and said "that's not good". I went over to her and asked her what she meant by that. She began to give me a lecture on how to care for my child. I asked for her name and she refused to give it to me saying "it doesn't matter". I went to the front and found out her name is Doris. I went back to Doris to tell her she is the reason I would not come back. Doris said that was fine (me not coming back). she continued to speak over me. I ended up saying "Doris, shut the F#$K up!" and left.

I was not charged for the hair cut due to the embarrassment caused by Doris. I left and came back with a tip for Lauren. Doris approached me and put her hand on my back. I asked her not to touch me and had to tell her more than once before she removed her hand from my back. I didn't want to talk to her but she kept trying to speak saying "it was unfair that I would not listen to her side" I told her I would write a review about her and she said "that's fine I have witnesses"

Before scheduling my appointment for a weekday. I had asked if I could bring my daughter. As previously mentioned I don't normally bring my daughter to the salon, but was unable to get someone to watch her this time and I was in need of a haircut before the wedding. I would of scheduled my appointment for a Saturday. But I do not want to go somewhere, pay for a service and be judged so harshly by someone who does not know the...

I’d like to address the review about today’s experience with the child in the salon and the mom. It was very upsetting for the Salon and all moms in the salon today. Not because we didn’t want a child there or upset with a little bit of noise. It was because the child was screaming for 45 min straight to the point that we were all concerned for her. Momming is hard we all know that, but women asked to help with the baby so she would calm down and the mother could continue with her hair but she turned down every offer and let the child suffer. It was to the point some of us thought to call CPS. So as for Salon Emage, they were respectful of the situation. As for Doris, she was a very concerned lady as were the rest of us and voiced out of concern that it was too long for this baby to scream like she was. My only comment really, not a judgement on you as a mom , but let Mom’s help when you are struggling or your child could use some help. We all know it’s hard to do it all. We all love babies and love to snuggle one when we can so maybe next time, take us up on the offer and be grateful you have an army of ladies willing to help. Today was hard for you and your daughter, the Salon, and everyone in it. Let’s just leave it as one of those days. But we got your back if you’d let us!!!!

You did look beautiful when you left and yes Lauren and all the stylists are amazing. Have a wonderful time at the...
