OK, so the first thing to note here is that the FOOD here is UNBELIEVABLE!!! The head chef is a Michelin Star rated chef and came from the amazing "The Inn at Little Washington" which is a Michelin 3-star restaurant. This unassuming brewery has some of the best food I have ever had anywhere.
Next, is the Beer (being a brewery and all..), the beer is very good and they have a welcomed wide variety of beer styles to choose from. I am the VP of a local homebrew club and I seek out breweries everywhere I go to try beer to keep up with different styles and how (new to me) breweries do with their beers. This brewery is better than average as their beers are both technically accurate and are a good representation of the styles as well as providing a large variety of beer styles to suit everyone's tastes.
The service is almost perfect. The two times that I have been there, the wait staff has been slow to come around to check on things even when they haven't been busy. When they do come around they are polite and do a great job, but we have had to wait longer than I would have expected for them not being busy at all.
The atmosphere is decent. I have so far only been here in the colder time of year as they haven't been open long and to my knowledge have only really been open since fall / early winter season of 2023 (which I think I was there my first time just a few weeks at most after they opened). The overall space is surprisingly large but only because they have multiple floors all stacked in different sizes and configurations to maximize the relatively small footprint of the building they are in. They try to make the areas as warm as possible by having a lot of plastic roll-up walls to keep the heat in but it can still be drafty and tight. I believe that they are doing a good job of providing as much useable space as they can for a smaller building footprint and the bottom floor has a decently large contiguous area for tables and they also have bar tops with bartenders at most areas (each floor) and you can sit at the bars as well. If memory serves me correctly, they can even make typical mixed drinks? I'm not 100% sure on that though.
Overall, my impression of this place is pretty awesome and I will be going there this evening for dinner as well. I highly recommend this brewery to everyone (even if you do not like beer much) as this is a great place to hang out with friends and family for amazing food and a great...
Read moreFinally, a good restaurant in Warrenton!
My parents live in Warrenton and we've been to many of the restaurants in town. With the possible exception of Claire's, we've been unhappy with them all. Even when they're occasionally good, the lack of consistency means we won't go back.
Enter Silver Branch Brewing.
First of all, the service was fantastic. Hope was our server and she was friendly, helpful, timely, and so sweet. Kat is (I believe) a manager who was very helpful in locating my mom's sweater that she'd left behind the last time my parents were there (this was my first time). We were celebrating my Dad's birthday and they brought out a dessert for him at the end, too. Here's what we ordered:
Belgian Frites: Without question, some of the best fries we've ever had. Don't sleep on these! Saison Mussels: Really good. Not super flavorful but the mussels were fresh and the dipping bread was perfectly grilled. I'd definitely get mussels again but will try one of the other flavors. Parmesan Garlic Wings: I was so jealous when they set these down in front of my dad. They looked perfectly crispy, and dad confirmed that they were fantastic. Sweet & Smokey BBQ Wings: I took these to go for someone who couldn't make the dinner, so they weren't fresh when he ate them. But a quick heat in the air fryer and they were nice and crispy again. We really liked them (I tried one). Bavarian Cream Tiramisu: Excellent. We loved it. Chocolate Stout Cake: This was my favorite, even over the tiramisu, but both were fabulous.
We'll absolutely be back. My parents had told me it was really good, and...
Read moreIt actually does a gradual close of amenities that starts with the kitchen, 1:15 minutes before posted 10PM close time. We were excited to hear that Silver Branch was taking over from the Wort Hog, so went to try it at 8:45 on Friday Evening, with an out of town guest. We were told that the Kitchen was closing at 9PM, so we would only be able to drink at that time. When asked, well since it is 8:45 we ought to be able to order some food and get our order in before the 9PM close, we were told....well actually the kitchen is already closed. It was one of those bizarre situations where you could tell the staff was focused on getting out of work as early as they could. They were extremely rude about it, and so we chose to leave (never to return) rather than accept the 'diminished service' being offered us. I would suggest calling ahead before you go there, to find out which services have been discontinued before you go there. It would appear that the 'inmates are running the asylum' and their focus is on doing the minimum for customers and offering a truncated service that is convenient for them. We went to another Restaurant/Bar in Warrenton that was open until 11PM, and actually offered all their services (including Kitchen) until that time. We will return to that venue, but will never darken the door of Silver Branch Brewing Company again, and hope that the next set of owners will provide 100% service from...
