Iâve been a member since 2012 when it was OSHF. When ownership changed to renegade and the facility received new paint, new machines and racks, and an updated layout I was hopeful that this gym would continue to be an incredible gym at an incredible price. This place has unfortunately turned to a POS.
They installed a 24 hour door that requires members to swipe their card at the door to even get in but the gym doesnât operate 24 hours so this just adds hassle to members whoâs key card wonât work or forgotten at home and the hours of operation are not ideal. Much of the equipment needs maintenance done to it, the machines are terrible and weâre clearly selected by someone that doesnât workout. The carpet has been bolted down into the concrete in the areas where it was coming up which looks terrible, the bathrooms donât work, the showers are gross, they donât have locks on one of the stalls, thereâs been a urinal that hasnât worked for a year, the paper towels and cleaner for cleaning the equipment is rarely restocked. The list is even longer but I think my point is made. This is all with a raised monthly fee from what it used to be, which although cheap ($32.99/month) compared to other options is not equal to what youâre getting from this place. On top of all that there is a yearly maintenance fee, meanwhile there has been little to no maintenance done on anything other than vacuuming in years. Things were slightly better when the place was consistently staffed and they werenât trying to sell the place, now this gym has somehow found room to get worse and has hit actual rock bottom. I would love to stay here and Iâm sad to leave because this gym made me learn to like fitness and lifting weights when I joined at 18 years old, and Iâve been hear through college, career changes, relationships, getting married, having a child, Iâve made friends with many people here, etc. itâs been a major part of my life. Iâll be cancelling my membership and going to a new gym after 13 years, at least then my money will go towards keeping a gym clean and maintained. If I had the money I would gladly purchase this place myself and turn it back to what it was when...
Read moreOne of the most poorly managed gyms in the area and operates on entirely bad faith. My experience: I resigned my "no commitment" membership at the beginning of August and continued to get charged. This might have something to do with their cancelation process being a Google Form that exports to a spreadsheet... very professional. So, I went into the gym to confirm my cancelation and was told that, not only had my membership not been cancelled, but, despite my non-commitment membership, I would be charged a substantial $70 fee for cancelation in addition to at least one more $35 monthly charge. Not $25, as I agreed to pay an additional $10 more per month than standard membership to be "free of commitment". The manager said that this cancelation scheme is in the contract but she conveniently failed to mention such a set-up at the time I signed up (over a year ago). Calling it "non commitment" implies that I was retaining the ability to walk away despite my reasoning or circumstances. The manager had actually recommended this membership when I told her I move a lot for work, selling me on the promise of not being tethered to this gym. A monetary commitment, whether by cancelation fees or lagging cancelation (or in this case both), is by all means a commitment and this is plain old dishonesty on Renegade's part. Just because Renegade defines commitment in fine print to mean the opposite of its conventional definition doesn't make what they're doing okay. They are intentionally misleading people. I trusted them and they tried shaking me down, going as far as to hire a debt collector! They are shamelessly scheming for money. The gym itself is evidence of their disgusting profit hunger... they don't even have a functioning water fountain! The desk is often unattended, when it is the staff member is preoccupied by their phone. The bathrooms smell like urine and give the impression of not having been cleaned in some time. The poor hours, limited sq. footage and lack of modern equipment make this gym worth at most $10/month. The only benefit is that it's not often crowded, which must a result of word getting around......
Read moreThis gym has enough things for people to do however, they are old, run down, and broken. Staff does not want to fix it or replace it. They either leave it like that, or put a sign for a long time that itâs âout of orderâ.
Very unorganized gym. Almost no staff. What happens if this gym has an emergency? They likely wonât do much. The staff is a strict uncaring staff. They have lots of policies for things however, they donât do anything. They donât wanna fix the steam room. Took along time to fix the water fountain. I onetime asked the front desk when they plan on fizzing the steam room, there response was ânever, very expensive, a lot of work, and we need to hire a plumber to fix itâ. This shows the lack of money this gym has right now. They need to hire staff to help this place succeed. They donât want staff at the front desk nor no trainers
This gym should be a 24/7 gym. You have to swipe a card to get in rather than just walk in.
This gym has been going down for a while. Once a customer is past time when it closes, all lights turn off and the place gets really dark.
I was told I can put my membership on freeze, however it was not on freeze. It was still active and I got charged. I had to cancel it right away and not get charged. They did nothing.
Another thing that is bad about the gym is they have the coldest sauna ever. The hottest it has ever hit was 125 degrees Fahrenheit. They probably donât wanna fix the heat inside the sauna.
They are staffed very limited hours that if you call the place, they may not answer. If you try waiting at the door for a worker to let you in, it may not happen.
The positive things I have about this gym is the customers you can meet here, has enough equipment to use, and itâs not super busy. The price is pretty good for this type of place.
You can find better...
