What's not to like about Job Lot except the 2% surcharge for their employees? That's nonsense. I also show up to my essential job, make almost no money anymore because we have no customers and yet, I don't get a surcharge in my place of business that helps me out. Yet I'm broke now because I'm not making nearly half as what I'm used to making, therefore I shop at Job Lot because I can no longer afford real batteries that last. I now have to buy $1.00 batteries that last less than 2 weeks in my toothbrush and then pay an extra 2% that I don't have to give because I'm not getting in return. So unfair. We're all in this situation together. I shouldn't be forced to give what I don't have. Then the cashier asked if I wanted to donate more money for a charity. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Maybe people would donate the 2% they take to the people who currently aren't working and get more yes than no answers...I can barely afford the 7% the state takes and you want to rob me of 2%, then have the audacity to ask me for more.....?? Probably better off shopping at the dollar store, or even the name brand stores at the mall for this stuff I can't even afford now during covid. No ones robbing you and asking for more money there. At least there, whatever I buy isn't taxed on top of tax. So even though you spend more, at least I'm not giving more and it's a legit sale. Speaking of which. How about mall employees? Should they get 2% too? Should I get 2%? Should everyone essential get 2%? CNA'S and Dr's get 2%.....?
"The discount retailer JOB LOT reported a fiscal first-quarter profit that was well above expectations and provided an upbeat outlook, as same-store sales got a boost amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Net income for the quarter to May 2 rose to $49.3 million"
Do the math. $49,300,000 × 2% = $986,000 extra that all of you and I broke people are paying extra because we're being forced to pay it for something none of us can control. Multiply $986,000 x 4 = $3,944,000. We're be robbed almost $4 Million dollars a year to Job Lot PEOPLE...$4 MILLION DOLLARS out of our already broke pockets which is why we even shop there to begin with. Honestly I'd much rather a pair of Nike socks than Job Lot socks but I shop there to save money, not be robbed money.
Honestly, after my own review, I'm an idiot for stepping foot in there today.
I'll give my money to Jeff Bezos and wait a few days for whatever I need. At least he's not robbing us 2% to shop on Amazon.
P.S. They don't even offer curbside during this pandemic. So play the covid card Job Lot and cry for more money to pay out but do nothing to help keep your customers who are panicking in this terrible time SAFE.
I'd rather catch coronavirus spending $1.07 for batteries at the Dollar Store than catch coronavirus spending...
Read moreI love Job Lot and shop here frequently but this morning's experience was not a good one. I came in for something specific but also like to roam the aisles when I can as you never know what pleasant surprises can be found. Twice I was blocked by employees trying to restock, at 10:15 in the morning. I do understand the importance but my first encounter, the employee barreled around the corner with a shopping cart and parked it right in front of me. I had no other option to exit the aisle but to back up. I stood for a few seconds, wasn't even acknowledged. Not an excuse me or attempt to make way for me-the customer. I said excuse me and proceeded to back my cart out of the aisle , still not even the slightest recognition of my presence. The second time, same store, same day, another employee was pushing a cart half filled with restock in the middle of the aisle and made no attempt to perhaps clear the way for a shopping customer-me. They just stood there and waited for me to move out their way, which I did. At this point I just wanted to leave, so I did. I don't usually do things like this but I was really bothered by my experience. It was like I was in their way and who wants to spend time or money in this kind of ...
Read moreNormally a decent store but after today I won't be going back. I was making a purchase and the power bars I was purchasing not only were expired but were a part of a crazy deal which I did not know. When I went to pay the cashier had to call someone else over to void out the power bars because of the crazy deal. Then a different cashier with purple and blue hair walks over and rudely tells me next time to separate them if I am using a separate crazy deal card to pay for items if there are items also a part of a separate crazy deal!..
She did not let me even say that I did not know there was a crazy deal on the power bars, and was very short with me. When she left I asked the original cashier to speak with a manager, she asks the woman with the colored hair to call the manager up. As I am waiting she has the nerve to ask me if everything is ok...
First off, I didn't appreciate that she didnt even let me say that I wasnt aware of the crazy deal then proceeded to talk to me like I am dumb. I work as a manager at a separate business so having known there was a crazy deal I would be courteous enough to separate items Do not talk to your customers like that!! We aren't above you and you're...
