I'm going to word this carefully as I just started renting from them and don't want any other issues. First let me begin by saying I have rented from them in the past with no issues. Many years later I am very, very unhappy with the entire experience. At the first place we looked at, when I mentioned my concerns about how many stairs there were to the laundry room, that it could be difficult for me when in the late stage of pregnancy and with a newborn, we were right away hurried to end the showing and told just to check their website. ok fine. A month or so later we set up a showing with a different person and she could not answer a single question about the place, important questions like what utilities were include and which weren't. We had questions about the gas and was told she'd look into it. In the meantime, we looked at another place of theirs. We applied for that one but told them we still were interested in the first one. We never got the answer to our question and the place was rented out. We were denied the place we applied for, was told it was because of an applicants history. It was a charge that happened well over 12 years ago and this person has since then worked on a military base. Good enough for the military but not a small apartment. sure ok, the land owner decides. another month goes by and mind you I called several times with no return calls, I finally set up showings for 4 places, one I had asked about the first time we viewed and was never gotten back to. The person viewing with me was working in dc the day we set up the appointment and had to leave work early to make it on time. Guess what, she never showed. Was told she had someone cancel and thought it was us. She had forgotten she schedule 2 different people to view properties. Are you freaking kidding me? We decided to go ahead and reschedule. Out of the 3 we were actually shown we choose one. We literally called and left a message 30 minutes after viewing and told her our decision. It took me calling and leaving a message 2 days later basically saying "I called you same day and told you we want this place and you still have not let us know if we are moving foward or not", for them to get back to us... We should have tried to hold out for elseware but we wanted plenty of time to get ready for baby. The place is nice and quiet neighborhood, but I'm feeling we got screwed the second we signed the lease. We were told that there is an automatic cleaning fee of about $100 taken out of our security deposit when we move out. Told it was for carpets. We stopped by the place after signing, I was disgusted at what I found. Lesson learned view before signing. When we looked at it, it was in the middle of being painted and we were told all major repairs would be done before we moved in as well as cleaned. IT WAS NOT! Disgusting things in the toilet, kitchen counters so sticky boxes stuck to the counters and much more. Back porch, a death trap. Fenced wall came apart at house and has 3in nails stick out that almost hit one if us in the face when we stepped onto the porch, not to mention the 5 or 6 loose boards and not so sturdy floor. I called immediately and was told that my cleaning standards aren't the same as everyone's and that someone would be out to fix porch. Wait, so I have to pay to have this place cleaned when I move out, but it's not clean when I move in??? And no one came to fix porch. Was told to stay off the porch. I sent my defect list and in the return email they said they would check the porch out and determine if it needs fixed..almost a month after living there. These are the major issues we had, many minor ones. I was warned by EVERYONE I told I was going through them to stop and wait for something else, I wish I would have listened. But we were not finding any other places available. I can see why they were the only ones. So basically, if you're extremely desperate for a place Antietam Realty, will work for you. But if you're looking for stress free, they are not for you. 2 stars because the place is nice otherwise I'd...

It wasn’t dust everywhere on the window sills ,stains all over the back splash of the stove , and the sink had old food in the drain and the shower was all rusty and had mold on the top part that holds the shower curtain. As the month of May went on every time it rained our bathroom would leak severely we would have to lay down numerous towels and within an hour our whole bathroom floor would be flooded. We called and complained about the roof and Laurie the maintenance supervisor was extremely rude about it and said that the roof couldn’t be leaking it was replaced. Months went on when we started to notice that our floors were shifting and becoming uneven in the kitchen, the back door lock wouldn’t unlock unless you applied extreme force to it, our refrigerator on the inside door was broken and stuff would always fall out in the middle shelf and break, and still dealing with the leaking roof. Every week were complaining to Laurie about our leaking roof and she would never send anyone out, she was really rude and wouldn’t even receive our calls till days later. Here we are in January and we still have the leaking roof every time it rains or if the snow melts, and they still have yet not fixed this roof, our bathroom has so much water damage and their is mold inside the roof! They had finally got someone out here a couple of weeks ago to look at the roof and he told us that their is hole on the side of the building that is bringing water into the second floor apartment (which is the floor we live on) and is causing water damage and mold to grow in our bathroom. We’ve called Laurie and she still hasn’t sent someone out again to fix this hole. We started to withheld our rent and Jennifer Martian (relator that sold us the apartment) had called and said we are in violation of our lease but we have told them back in November if they didn’t fix the roof we were to withhold the rent. Antietam Realty is really unprofessional when it comes to handling things to be fixed, Laurie (maintenance supervisor) is eaither rude when she answers the phones and tries to belittle you or she doesn’t return your calls till days later to get things fixed. The only thing I can say postive so far is that this place is conveniently located in...
Read moreI have to agree with most of the other review posters on here. Excluding the receptionist who is very friendly when you can reach her the rest of the experience is terrible. You can never get a hold of anyone. Calls are returned days later if at all. The latter is more prominent. The realtor for Greencastle area is rude and speaks in a agitated manner. When curtly informed my rental application was not picked for a home I applied for without ever being able to even see, she seemed shocked that I was still looking to move. At first I thought she must think I'm daft and would decide to stay put since I didn't get one place I applied for. Since she had no way of knowing I had other applications out elsewhere, I've concluded her shock came from me at the time wanting to even consider another property they hold despite there management/service skills. In hindsight she was correct. No one in there right mind would subject themselves again. They are horrible at scheduling showings, returning calls and seem to be in no hurry to help you find and procure a home. I'm a college educated professional yet they really do make you feel like less of a person and there lack of professionalism and effort leave you combing over yourself wondering what they possibly found or thought that made you unsuitable as not only a renter but a person. Apparently good credit isn't good enough unless its perfect. A clean background, steady job and income, as well as good references aren't enough either. The sad thing is they sure seem to have a fair amount of property's for the area. I wonder if the owners knew how tough it is to even schedule a showing if so many would pick them to handle there rentals. Sadly they now have a radio commercial so they can continue to rake them in. I was hesitant to write this review as I am still looking and worried what If they had something I was interested in. (I'm in no rush and have been looking for almost a year) Then it dawned on me 1 I'm better than that and 2 it wouldn't matter if I did like something they had because just like every other time I will get...
