My fiancé and and I took our 4 year old English Bulldog, Athena, to the vet a few weeks ago for her annual check up. We were more than shocked and heart broken to learn that she has developed an arrhythmia and murmur. The vet asked us to leave her for a little while so they could do some x-rays so we decided to go to PetPeople to buy her a bunch of treats and toys to spoil her for when she was ready to come home. As she is our baby, you can imagine we were quite distraught thinking about the unknown and worrying about her future. Michelle greeted us with a warm smile and kind words. She could tell instantly that something was off and when I broke down in tears she was quick to hug me and show compassion. She was so genuine and went above and beyond for us out of the goodness of her heart, not because others were watching. Michelle helped us find good treats, and specifically ones that will be good for Athena’s heart. I cannot thank Michelle enough for her kindness, empathy, and compassion. She helped make a terrible, terrible morning just a little less dark. Not only does PetPeople sell high quality food, treats, toys, etc. but their employees are second to none. To top their customer service off, Michelle and the rest of the staff sent Athena a “Get Well Soon” card which we received the day before Athena’s cardiologist appointment. It was such a heartwarming moment for my fiancé and I to receive this thoughtful card. I cannot thank you all enough! I cannot say enough nice things about the centerville pet people. A few days ago I ordered a couple weeks worth of raw food and some other goodies for my dogs as delivery to my apartment. It's a really long story, but short version is the delivery service (completely SEPARATE company not related to pet people) delivered my order to a random address and my order was no where to be found. I called the delivery service multiple times and was left with "we'll call you back" and they never did. Pet people, on the other hand, was soooooo amazing during all of this! They called me back with updates and solutions immediately and even picked up the raw food I ordered from a different location because they had ran out of stock. They apologized for the inconvenience so many times, but I kept telling them it wasn't their fault! Justin was so amazingly helpful and hand delivered my order himself so as to not cause any more delivery issues. He also included extra treats, coupons, and a gift card for the inconvenience. I also want to mention that every single time I go into their store I feel so welcomed and they really feel like a family there! I'm so saddened that we are moving 3 hours away at the beginning of the year, but whenever I come back to dayton to visit family I'll always go to this pet people! Amazing staff and customer service. I have a crazy picky cat and I’m also hell-bent on not feeding her trash which is incredibly hard to do because almost ALL pet food is exactly that albeit they falsely advertise otherwise. This place only carries all the real high-quality real food. I was having trouble choosing because unfortunately with how picky my kitty is I don’t like to get large bags or case packs of wet food and there weren’t many small-size choices at least in dry food. Even if she likes something she decides she is over it pretty quick and wants to know what else I got. While there I was offered help by multiple staff, I was there a long time trying to choose, and while at the checkout I felt the need to explain because I seemed like a weirdo for the hour + wasted there and to my delight the staff offered me a bag of samples— 6 different samples to be exact. They assured me that if I do buy any food wet or dry and she doesn’t like it I’m welcome to bring it back for an exchange and they’ll just donate the remaining food I return to a shelter. I’ve shopped at many pet stores and I’ve never had this level of service. She liked 4 out of 6 and I’ll definitely be returning for her choices.
