We shopped around at 3 different bakeries that specialized in wedding cakes before settling on Love Cakes. Our focus was on taste, since we found that most of these bakeries would do an equally fine job of decorating. Hands down the best cake on texture and flavor was LoveCakes from Dorothy Lane Market. We decided to do separate layers with white cake/lemon tarte/raspberry compote and chocolate cake/chocolate ganache/raspberry compote and they were absolutely amazing. We used DLM for our tiered wedding cake for our 10/30/20 wedding. We first went for a tasting which was so fun and delicious but also great to work with a professional on what we wanted. My groom is a huge chocolate lover so we went outside of the box with a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream, chocolate ganache drip and raspberry filling. I was a little worried that it wouldn't be pretty for a wedding cake but they did amazing! It was so beautiful and dainty. They added fresh flowers on-site when they delivered the cake and it was the perfect finishing touch.
