We took a group of 5 here on Oct. 26th for a tasting and had a strange experience. Two (2) of us arrived early, participated in small talk with the bartender, and watched as another group of 4 started a tasting. We all talked about the distillery trails we were on and took recommendations from the bartender. No issues. Then the 3 remaining in our group arrived. The bartender told 1 of our group he wouldn't serve him and the only explanation given was that he had to follow "laws." We thought he was kidding and hence, started the tasting. He was not kidding and refused to serve our friend. It was so weird that when we left and the door closed, we burst out in laughter. The only reason that we could think of was that the bartender judged our friend as drunk. He is a retired fellow whose movement and speech are on the slower end of cadence. Read moreMy wife and I made the trip from Jefferson City to try Washington Distillery on the recommendation of a fellow whiskey lover and friend. We were truly impressed by our treatment and the variety of samples we were allowed to try. Luckily we had the place to ourselves and were able to meant Curt, Vince, and Rich who were full of the tales of their craft. You can tell it is really a passion for them and their products reflect it. Bought a case + and will be returning. Highly recommend this experience, although sizeable groups may find it 'cozy'.
