United States Postal Service — Local services in Washington

I have been trying to get a package delivered that was overnighted for a week. I have spent the last 36 minutes calling non stop. I know it is exactly 36 minutes because the phone will only ring 3 minutes at a time before the call is cancelled. I took the day off work to try and see if the mail person would deliver it (it is requiring a signature) but still a no show. I am worried if I go down there and the mail person has it I won't be here to sign for it or if I keep waiting and they don't have it then the post office will close. Simply answering the phone could solve this. Calling the 800 number simply tells me this post office either has it or its out for delivery and they gave me their number....

I mailed two packages on Thursday May 16th. One had a birthday present I had beautifully wrapped, and I bought a new priority mail box for it. The other was a book I bought a new priority mail envelope for. Both recipients received them with the boxes open, wrapping ruined, envelopes opened, and contents damaged. The last time a government POST OFFICE opened my packages, ostensibly to steal anything valuable, was when I lived in South Africa.

Never setting foot in this filthy hovel they call a post...

Absolutely amazing customer service. Really the kindest postal workers you will ever find. It's a very small location and there is usually only one person working, so you should not expect to get in and out quickly unless it's during off hours, but every time I have been there the staff has done everything they can to move things along. It's a thankless job, but these workers in particular deserve a huge thank you for making my day every...
