I just wasted an hour of my life.... I went in to use a $30.00 coupon.... It expires tomorrow.... Picked up a shaving trimmer combo... go to the register....waited about 7 minutes for the 1 customer in front of me... get to the register she rings in the coupon.. scans the item .... then she tries to get the security sensor off ... after about 3 minutes she can't get it off... she can't call anyone because she didn't have a wireless headphone ... she asked me to get the person in the jewljew department... I do ... when she gets to the register she picks up the phone because one of the lines is blinking... speaks to the person.. puts them on hold ... walks away and goes through the woman's department... and disappeared... the cashier is still trying to get the security sensor off... she asked me to go to the register in the misses department... she suspended the transaction .. gives me 2 register receipts and asked me to go to the register in the misses department.... I go there to find 1 person at the register and 2 elderly lady's waiting... They asked me if I wanted to go ahead of them ...I said they were here first ... and to go ahead... after they checked out I gave the cashier my item and the 2 receipts ... she scans the receipts and the item and says that will be 30.00 something$$$.. I said how can that be ??? I told her I have a $30.00 coupon.. she says where is it ??? ... I said I gave it to the cashier down there ... she asked me to go get it... I do ... I get back to the original cashier who in the middle of ringing up a customer.. I tell her the cashier you sent me to needs the $30.00 coupon I gave you ... she digs through the garbage pail gives me a coupon and says I think that's the right one .. I go back to the other register... that cashier is now checking out the customer that was behind me... she finishes with her ..I give her the coupon..she rings up my 1 item ...I swipe my debit card for remaining $9.03 . The cashier says thanks for shopping at Kohl's ... I said your welcome ..and left the store... went to my car and spent another 30 minutes...
Read moreI never shop at Kohl's, in fact it was the 2nd time, I have been in that store. I was looking for a certain Disney shirt for my 6 year old boy/girl twins. I have to say, the 2 employees on the floor, what above & beyond to help me, find what I was looking for. I honestly wish, I got both their names, because they were awesome. My one & only complaint is when I checked out, the women ask me if I had a Kohl's card & I told her, no & I never shop retail.. She then told me, I would save x amount of dollars, again I told her no thanks.. After the third time, asking me & I proceeded to tell her, no thank you.. She actually got mad at me & asked me why I wouldn't try & get a card.. Not for nothing, I'm a single mom with 3 kids & I only buy second hand clothes & I have tons of friends that we get hand me downs from. I understand, she might make a commission. But she actually asked me 4 times & everytime, I told her no, thanks. She actually got an attitude with me.. Now as wonderful as the other 2 employees were, I don't know, if I would go back.. Because of the way, she acted towards me.. Not for nothing, when she handed me my change, she dropped it & said, oops... Oops, wonder if I signed up for the card, if that would...
Read moreThe store itself is a department store with a focus on clothing and a few other novelty items. The prices are high for the most part and the lure is the coupons that are provided on a regular basis along with Kohl's cash earned. The coupons are highly restricted and many brands are excluded (in the fine print). I ended up bringing a few name brand clothing items to the checkout and after waiting in a long line, I was told that they did not apply. I wanted the items so I decided it was not worth the hassle to put them back and not buy them. I suspect this is part of the business model. The Kohl's cash however I was able to use on anything in the store. Overall the checkout line is fairly well organized but the model of high prices and using coupons to make you feel like you are getting a deal is not super appealing to me. The store to me is on the darker/gloomier side as it is not lit very well and has an older department store feel to it. It might be for me for certain items and the quality of the items purchased was decent but I think you really need to know all of the "gotchas" and how to shop the store to really get...
