NEVER given a dime to this company EVER again. Spent so much money over the years with them to be treat like crap. Just spent over 6k in the fall and recently bought an oven for 3k that has been a nightmare for delivery and service. After being force to reschedule my delivery date I had to call the day before to say I have yet to get a confirmation to then be told that they actually were not coming because the date they gave me was a mistake and they were booked up. I would have wasted a day at work if I had just sit and wait for them since no one called to warn me I was not getting my delivery as promised. I finally got my oven delivered and realize the door was not lined up properly and something was off. The delivery guys told me they couldn't handle it and that I would have to call Home Depot to get a tech out. The tech called me on the wrong date and told me he was on the way to our house when I explained he messed up he AGREED that he called in error and would see me tomorrow. BOTH me and my husband stayed home ALL DAY on the right day and he NEVER showed or called. When I called the cell number he called me on the day prior he answered and said he took care of it and spoke with my husband. I apologize and hung up thinking while I was in my bedroom on a call I must have missed him, although I saw no one on my security camera. When I asked my husband who was downstairs also working he said no one came. Called the guy back thinking he must had gotten me mistaken with another customer and he refused to answer his phone. We both stayed home all day just for no one to show and to be LIED to! When I called customer service they agree all of what I said was right, but refuse to accommodate knowing that their tech has screwed up and lied about visiting and that they had the wrong date in the system seeing that I had proof since it was schedule through the customer support chat. This was a constant back and forth pleading them to come out same day or sooner, seeing that they had screwed up one too many times. Not to mention I bake cakes for events and had to use a friends oven the past weekend and we are going into another weekend where I again need an oven. I am DONE with HOME DEPOT not knowing how to treat customers. I will drive the extra miles and give my business to Lowes or Best Buy. If I could give zero stars I would. I don't see how you have to spend money, take off time for delivery and maintenance and they just decide not to show because they feel like it and then you lose more time at work for rescheduling and they don't even try to squeeze you in sooner to make up for their CONSTANT mistake. When I asked about compensation for what we are going through I was told after everything is send and done and the oven is fixed then we can talk about that. Yes, please treat me like I am stupid as if I believe there is any intention on giving me anything when I've ben lied to one...
Read moreI don’t know how the Waterbury Ct. Home Depot received a 4 STAR RATING, but after reading some of the reviews, I noticed some were reviews for surrounding Home Depots, & not just the Waterbury Ct. store, which obviously explains the 4 STARS. As a chain, Home Depot is my favorite, but the Waterbury Ct. store is the ABSOLUTE WORST. If & when you’re able to find someone there to help you. Help is not what you get. The total opposite is a better way to describe it. I have been to countless number of Home Depots & have received accurate, & prompt help, whereas in Waterbury Ct., it is always a gamble. I cannot rely, nor depend on their knowledge, or assistance. I usually leave there frustrated, and baffled. If this were an isolated occurrence, then I wouldn’t be giving this review, however, when I go there for a project that, regrettably, needs me to have to rely on some help, it’s pure hell. I purchased some treated wood there for a 25x20 sized deck I was having built, and trying to select the wood was again pure hell. I wondered if Waterbury just received the lower grade pieces, and it wasn’t just Home Depot. I then traveled to Southington, and their selection seemed to be significantly better. When looking for building materials Waterbury’s Home Depot always falls short. I have had some of my little, less challenging, needs met at the Waterbury store, & for that I wish I COULD GIVE IT A 2 1/2 STAR RATING but They dont’t offer up half stars, so I will not go up to a 3 STAR. I will have to go down to a 2 STAR rating. Now a Home Depot that deserves a 5 Star & higher rating is the one off of I 84 exit 19, 80 INDEPENDENCE WAY BREWSTER NY, is AMAZING. Plenty of knowledgeable employees, willing and eager to assist you. No standing around, or running up and down aisles looking for help, only to be told. “Sorry that's not my department!” Or better yet, get ill advice, by unknowledgeable sales associates. You go to the aisle, where you need to be, and there are several employees willing to help. I have had several large costly renovations since the deck being built in 2017, & I have gone out of my way to that Brewster location, & there, it was a 100% success. Waterbury’s Home Depot is only for little things, that I need no assistance with. Again my review is not based on a one time occurrence, it’s based on years, & actually instances, which are still occurring like last week June 2019. Waterbury Home Depot needs a revamp, & can stand to learn a lot from the Brewster NY location. Hopefully this review doesn’t fall on deaf ears. “Waterbury Home Depot.” “Do better for...
Read moreThis is the absolute worst HD I have ever been to. Due to its location being centrally located and off of two major highways makes it an extremely lucrative store for the company However this fact also allows it to be probably one of the worst run stores in the whole country without attracting much attention from corporate. Employees overall are aloof, avoidant, and disinterested. I have many experiences of asking for help and them saying I don't know, or worse giving me the wrong answers. To be clear it's okay to not know, but the attitude should be let's find out together. One example of the type of service I frequently encounter is when I was told that a particular item wasn't carried in their store after I found it online. I left went to the Southington store and was told there that they don't stock the item but their computers showed that Waterbury store indeed showed stock in the computer. Going back to Waterbury again was told by multiple employees that they did not have the item, then after speaking to a manager they realized they did have the item but it required a fork lift to bring down from the racks, an hour later I was able to purchase said item. I have many more stories like this, but for the sake of brevity will not expound further. I will say that there are a few employees that are actually awesome, I know who they are and appreciate them, and as is the norm these types of people are always very busy, but still always friendly. I try to avoid going to this store as much as possible and like other's I have talked to choose to drive an extra 15 min to one of the surrounding stores for a much better experience. Unfortunately, due to a busy life I am not always able to avoid the dreaded Waterbury Home Depot and so I have learned to just keep my head down, get in and out as quick as possible. Going to one of the Southington stores, or Torrington, or one of the blue competitor's stores you will find genuine friendly and helpful customer service, clean clear aisles, carriages and carts in several places around the store (not just out in the parking lot), and display items that are clean and well lit as opposed to... well go look for yourself at the display of ceiling fans in Waterbury Home Depot- aisles are a mess (and dangerous)! The fans are filthy and many are missing lights, and blades. In summery- go...
