Holyland USA in Waterbury, CT, a place that has always held a special fascination for me, has undergone a significant transformation. While it once stood as a dilapidated space, it has been restored to some extent, shedding its worn-down appearance.
One of the most notable changes is the addition of a new lit cross, which continues to glow high above downtown Waterbury, serving as an iconic beacon. Additionally, the removal of overgrown brush and trees has opened up the space, revealing its hidden beauty.
Having visited Holyland USA at various stages of my life, I've witnessed its evolution firsthand. Each visit offers a unique perspective, and I'm continually amazed by its enduring charm and significance.
Whether you're drawn to its religious symbolism or simply intrigued by its history, Holyland USA is a place that invites exploration and contemplation. It's a testament to the power of restoration and the enduring allure of this iconic landmark.

I had SO many ideas for this area-seating areas, building reconstruction, etc. Fixing the Sphinx would be so easy, it just needs someone with that talent. We enjoyed walking up the paths to the hilltop, and spent some time replanting the flowers that someone pulled out of the planters. We really saw the vision that was originally here. I hope they get an influx of funding because it would be an amazing...
