I've been looking forward to dining here for the past several years and finally made a reservation to celebrate my wife's birthday. I had high hopes and somewhat high expectations coming into this based upon others reviews, the pictures of the venue posted online, and the menu. To say it missed the mark for my wife's special day would be putting it nicely. The food was just ok, but the service we received (or didn't receive) really spoke volumes to the experience. We were rushed through our dinner from the time we were seated, to the time we were out the door was less than an hour. Our order was taken, water and bread delivered to our table, appetizer, dinner took a while to arrive and they picked up our bread plates with my wife's bread half eaten when they came to tell us our entrees were taking a little while. They never offered more bread while we wait or if we wanted more water or anything else. When we were nearly done dinner we were asked if we wanted coffee and when we said no, they picked up our plates and my wife wasn't entirely finished eating. Then they dropped off the check without asking if we were ready for it as if to say we had overstayed our welcome. I felt rushed, but my wife was left feeling unwelcome on her special day. The final act of bad service was when my wife and I were walking out to the front door and one of the hostesses rushed past me, cut between me and my wife and stopped short so I had to stop and wait for her to recognize that she had cut me off and allow me to pass by to escort my wife out. I really wish this had been a better experience, but it was very...

At first glance you think, WOW this is going to be great. But that's where it all ends. Although it was busy it wasn't packed. We waited 15 min before they found us a table amongst at least 5 empty tables. We were seated by a very loud group of gen z wanna be's. They weren't only loud they were obnoxious. The server finally found us and brought us some pellingrino that we requested. He then took our drink order. He returned about 10 min later to ask if we would like appetizers. My wife got the arugula salad and I got the clams casino. About 5 min later we received our drinks. Then in 8 to 10 min later we got our appetizers. My wife said her salad was awesome. She knows her salads. My clams casino was wrong. Why do you ask? Let me say I worked as an executive chef for many places all at least 4 diamond. THERE ARE NO BREAD CRUMBS IN CLAMS CASINO period. OK so my wife finished her drink and after waiting 10 min and no sign of a waiter my wife put her empty glass by the edge of the table hoping the waiter would get the hint. Unfortunately the hint he got was to quickly pick it up without asking if she would like another. Then about 10 more minutes out came our dinner by a food runner. My wife's meat sauce was burnt. My dish was so greasy I couldn't eat more than 3 bites. Then the waiter shows up to ask how's everything. We were disgusted at him and the gen z wanna be's as they were shouting over each other. He finally brought another drink for my wife and we were happy to get away from...

I visited this restaurant because my work was organizing a corporate meal for some clients. True, there was a 45 minute presentation that had to be sat through, but call me what you want, just don't call me late for dinner!

I was one of the first ones there, and the projector screen and table was already all set up. The entire set up was very pretty, as were the placements on the table. We had a dedicated waitress with her own helpers and so the service was amazingly quick, responsive and unfailingly friendly for such a large group.

The menu was interesting and varied, with someone for everyone. They put together I very nice appetizer platter to share as well. The calamari and chicken skewers were winners for sure.

Most of the people at the event opted to go for the restaurants many pescetarian/seafood dishes. All of the fish was raved about by all, and there was also someone who had a delicious looking pasta dish that came chock full of seafood and red sauce.

I didn't stick around for dessert, but from what I saw on the menu it was pretty typical fare for an Italian restaurant... Or most New England restaurants for that matter.

I was very impressed with this restaurant and would definitely go again if in the area. Would be nice to go when not at a corporate event as well, but they did an excellent...

After much anticipation, my fiancé and I went to Diorio to celebrate our anniversary several months ago! This spot has been high on my list of restaurants to visit ever since they reopened after COVID and remodeling. The interior was so charming, with a classy vintage feel that I absolutely loved. The menu definitely had some good choices, and while everything we ordered was good, we did agree that we’ve had better. Mostly we thought my fiancé’s ribeye could’ve used more seasoning, but the truffle butter that he had with it definitely added to the flavor. The pasta with my chicken parm was a bit cold, so it must’ve been plated before the chicken. One of the highlights for us though was when the waitress came around with a platter to showcase their desserts - it helped us make our decision on the banana banoffee and chocolate cake. The banoffee was excellent, but the chocolate cake was a little dry. Overall, I do think this is a great option to have in downtown Waterbury, and I would still come back to try some other dishes. We came on a weeknight and were impressed to see that it got pretty busy at peak dinner time!

Lovely atmosphere, very European with dim, warm colors. It's truly pleasant just sitting here, admiring the fancy styling. The service was nothing to talk about. It was just average, but quick enough! As for the food, it was good. Everyone loved their food, but I'm known to be unforgiving and overanalytical when it comes to cooking. I had pasta with clams and white wine sauce. The dish arrived hot right off the stove! But both my friends and I thought the sauce wasn't reduced enough, making it watery and slightly bland. The clams lacked a bit of flavor, but weren't overcooked which is nice. The food was still tasty - but not $28 tasty. It's not like it was a rush, but I guess mistakes happen even to the best chefs. The best part was the dessert. I ordered the créme brulée (whatever the spelling is), and it was delicious. The crunchy, smoky caramelized sugar was something else, and went really well with the creamy stuff underneath. I'd come here again in a few months, and I recommend you do too, you won't regret it.

I took my wife there for special occasion. Made sure to let waiter know we were in no hurry. He was very respectful. His name was Art. We started the dinner with soup. French onion and lobster bisque. The bisque was the best ever. The French onion was superb. Apps were calimari and sausage and broccoli rabe. . Then penne ala vodka for her and veal Diorio for me with spinach and mashed potatoes. Very good. Desert was NY cheese cake and creme brulee. The cheese cake was average. If they ever had mine they we know what I am talking about. . This place takes you back in time . I would highly recommend.
