Recently, on Friday, April 5th, I attended a workshop on hiking called "Take A Hike" at the library ~ offered by a very knowledgeable young woman named, Myria. I loved it. The presentation was well organized and comprehensive. She had an exhibit showcasing tools, equipment and techniques to use for a safe and comfortable day or nite hiking trip as well as a few tips to remain calm in the event of an unforseen occurrence. This workshop was well worth my time and I'm very glad I attended. It would be appropriate for children, teens or anyone for that matter, to attend if given again. I learned a lot about keeping myself 'safe' on a hiking trail, especially in an emergency. Wonderfully informative workshop! 👏

Had to pick books up for my sons. I tell you they have made it very convenient to get in and get out since this pandemic started. The staff has been wonderful. I really appreciate being able to pick your books on line or just call and give a subject and they will find you books along that line. Then just pick them up. 5 minutes. It’s really nice to teach kids how to read you know people use to have to actually read things. 🤷🏾‍♀️ No phones at 4 so they gotta do something with their time.🤓 So quick I didn’t even put change in to park. Don’t try that y’all.!!!

What a wonderful class presented by Myria to make a DIY Hand-Painted Tote Bag. It was so much fun and, though I could have used the stencil materials available, a few of us did our own thing and painted what we wanted to. I tried to copy a picture I had found and surprisingly came out very well for a non-artist! Only wish I had more time than the hour allowed, and hopefully we'll be given additional time in the future. I'd love to do this class again! Thank you Myria and SBL Friends for a providing the class!

I hardly ever go because parking is a continuous issue. I am handicapped and the few handicap parking spaces are always occupied. Apparently those spaces are also shared by the town hall offices. Also, the parking spaces are not near the building at all, so requires quite a bit of walking. I really wish they would make this building more handicap accessible. There is quite a bit of space in front of the building and do not see why they cannot make more handicap parking in front of the building. As a result, I wind up having to go to libraries in Prospect and other nearby towns. You also have to pay for handicapped parking which requires a visit to the kiosk first before parking. Something needs to be done. I cannot imagine I am the only one frustrated...

Kudos to all the wonderful people who helped make the “Painting with Acrylics” class a huge success!! Myria who kindly invited and greeted us to join the amazing artist, Maritza Chacon and her daughter, Maria; Kelvin who was so nice to set up our materials and translate to our English and Spanish guests, and all the friendly participants who worked on their own unique paintings side by side. Thank you all for your encouraging words, comradeship and also for the nice photos of our group. I look forward to participating in future classes and presentations at the Silas Bronson Library. We are lucky to have such a wonderful library led by so many talented and kind...
