I hardly ever go because parking is a continuous issue. I am handicapped and the few handicap parking spaces are always occupied. Apparently those spaces are also shared by the town hall offices. Also, the parking spaces are not near the building at all, so requires quite a bit of walking. I really wish they would make this building more handicap accessible. There is quite a bit of space in front of the building and do not see why they cannot make more handicap parking in front of the building. As a result, I wind up having to go to libraries in Prospect and other nearby towns. You also have to pay for handicapped parking which requires a visit to the kiosk first before parking. Something needs to be done. I cannot imagine I am the only one frustrated...
Read moreRecently, on Friday, April 5th, I attended a workshop on hiking called "Take A Hike" at the library ~ offered by a very knowledgeable young woman named, Myria. I loved it. The presentation was well organized and comprehensive. She had an exhibit showcasing tools, equipment and techniques to use for a safe and comfortable day or nite hiking trip as well as a few tips to remain calm in the event of an unforseen occurrence. This workshop was well worth my time and I'm very glad I attended. It would be appropriate for children, teens or anyone for that matter, to attend if given again. I learned a lot about keeping myself 'safe' on a hiking trail, especially in an emergency. Wonderfully informative...
