šØ!!BUYER BEWARE: MULTIPLE $80+ HIDDEN FEES, AND SUBSCRIPTION RENEWING AFTER CANCELING THROUGH MAILING IN OFFICAL DOCUMENTS 6+ MONTHS PRIOR!!šØ
I've had a genuinely atrocious experience through and through. I initially chalked the negative reviews up to: "they didn't read the fine print" or: "they signed up for a year subscription and tried to cancel early." But I was truly mistaken.
First, Crunch requires you to set up payment through your bank's routing number. They do this to avoid card charge backs from fraudulent charges they will randomly hit you with post cancelation. Making it an arduous process to dispute the ACH transactions. (I have been dealing with this on and off for nearly 2 years now, thankfully I check my bank statements often)
Secondly, even with the more expensive monthly subscription, Crunch charges you jaw dropping hidden fees for $80+ dollars multiple times per year. Meaning the true subscription cost is $40-$60 per month. This is an insanely scummy practice that needs to stop, it should be illegal to advertise their subscription is $15/$18.
Thridly, even though you can subscribe online, you cannot cancel online, meaning you have to go in person, deal with a manager trying to keep you on their service, and then finally MAIL IN paperwork to cancel your subscription, when in turn it's incredibly easy to sign up online with 2-3 pieces of information and a few clicks.
LASTLY and most infuriating, even once you "OFFICALLY" cancel your subscription, 6-8 MONTHS later they will randomly start your subscription back up again!!! Leading you to start this whole process over again! Blindly hoping they don't charge you an exorbitant fee out of nowhere!!! (this is where I currently am at, for the 2nd time now!! which is why I'm incredibly frustrated!!!)
I did everything by the book, subscribed at a higher monthly rate because I knew I was going to move for work soon, canceled officially by sending in paperwork, and still was used and abused by this location.
Most of the positive reviews are coming from people who are new, and have not experienced this nightmare. Please don't make the same...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe gym is fine, the equipment is in good shape. I even got a sweet deal on membership for signing up before their grand opening. Customer service on the other hand is a complete joke. I decided it was unnecessary to keep my membership while Covid is hanging around since I wouldnāt be going to work out. When I called to cancel my membership, I was told I couldnāt cancel over the phone. Not given a reason, just told I couldnāt cancel over the phone. What I could do though, was freeze my payments so I wouldnāt be charged while not using my membership. Not what I wanted, but if Iām not being charged I guess it wouldāve been fine for the time being. Fast forward a few months, and Iām receiving texts calls and emails stating that my account is $150+ delinquent, and that it would be sent to collections if I didnāt update my billing. However, if I update my billing and pay for another month my balance would be forgiven. Finally I got tired of the threats and visited the club to settle my account issues once and for all. After dealing with an individual working the desk, I paid my next months dues (against my better judgement, but if $30 ends my problems itās a small price to pay) and signed on the line to cancel my membership with my balance showing as $0 across the board. I even received a cancellation document in my email stating my outstanding balance was $0 as well. A few hours later Iām informed over the phone that I have an outstanding balance and that my account wonāt be cancelled until said balance is paid. Iām now a few days further into disputing what would amount to a few more dollars than I paid, should my balance be sent to collections. All because Crunch has to make cancelling a membership overly difficult. Congrats on losing a once satisfied member, and gaining yet another negative review revolving around membership...

I have been a member at Crunch Waterford for over a year and recently was enrolled in their personal training program. I have been in the program for about 10 weeks and not only am I closer to the goals that I set with my trainer, but I have developed new values and a healthier mindset when it comes to fitness and nutrition.
The trainers are dedicated to understanding your desired goals and can deliver. My trainer (Taylor) challenged me to perform at optimal capacity while also encouraging me to be patient as I was developing a new lifestyle.
Taylor taught me that in order to be physically capable, I needed to also become mentally strongā something that has become the foundation of my fitness journey.
As the program progressed, I started to became more concerned with feeling strong and healthy and less concerned about what the shape of my body was.
I was more satisfied and content with the process of becoming more fit and reaching my fitness goals, than actually seeing the results.
However, you will see results!
The trainers are committed to being accountable, executing a personalized plan AND dedicated to your needs. They have provided excellent communication, educated me, and provided me with so much more!
Personal Training is WORTH the investment. There have been times where I have been very hopeless and I feel that with the accountability, kindness and friendship I developed during my program made me successful and excited to pursue new goals.
Lastly, I believe that because of the great leadership from Sue, she has developed and instilled values in her team that will drive you to success.
If you feel hopeless, at all, in your fitness journey, I promise you that it is completely worth the investment and is the best...
