Family Foods Marketplace — Local services in Waterford Township

I live less than 2 minutes away from this store, so it became my Go-To for quick pickups and last minute necessities...for a while. Meat and produce were never really the best quality or freshness and the general selection of products available was a bit "slim pickings, but in a pinch all these minor issues were acceptable. UNTIL things went from Acceptable to the point that I actually Reported the store for having expired items for sale & allowing customers to purchase them! And I don't mean saltines or dried noodles. I am referring to Raw Meat and Dairy products! And this occurred with my very own purchases on 4 separate occasions with 5 different products! Raw roll breakfast sausage, yogurt, etc. And not just by A Day...for instance, the breakfast sausage was over 3 WEEKS past it's expiration! Possibly I should have reported these incidents to the store directly, but the employees - Some of them, anyways - were quite rude and abrasive even just during a normal checkout experience. I really did not feel comfortable trying to handle a potentially contentious situation with that type of staff member. And I also felt that with it happening on that many different trips and products, it was not very probable to be a simple mistake/oversight. So, BUYER BEWARE if you decide...

I have been shopping at this store for over 10 years, I love the meat department and mainly come here for that reason. I also live in walking distance and usually return my cans here and then SPEND the money from cans at the store. Before I even got into the store an employee rudily approached and said the machines were down. Ok, no big deal if a machine is down, I understand, but coming from a CUSTOMER SERVICE perspective you should at least ablige me and take my cans and make my walk to your store worthwhile. So now you have an unhappy customer and I will do my best to avoid the store by all means! Which sucks, cause there are certain things that I rely on at that store. I have had several issues prior to this that I've brushed off, but this really angered me.. Just the LACK of CUSTOMER SERVICE skills by the manager is very aggravating to me! Take care of your customers if you want people to come back!!!!!!!!! ...

This store altho not perfect, but has the nicest people working there... I like the meat department as they have smaller packages for those cooking for one or two...The butchers have also broken down a larger amount into smaller freezer sized packages... I like to experiment with spices, no shortage of spices in this store...they seem to have everything....also wonton and egg roll wrappers most of the time...Lastly I like the produce being self picked not pre-bagged so again I can just get one or two peppers or tomatoes as I need... They keep a tidy parking lot too...Only negative might be the bottle return system... Improvements there would be great....Long time employees tells me it's a great place to work... the management has the consumer and...
