Absolutely the worst Chinese place I have ever tried. I ordered orange chicken dinner with chicken fried rice, almond chicken dinner with chicken fried rice, and crab Rangoon, first off the rice had no taste at all not to mention there was absolutely no chicken in both orders. Second my orange chicken was a mess. I opened the lid expecting to see little chicken balls covered in the sweet very little spice sauce that makes your mouth water along with some veggies that they put in with it, I am opened that lid to have my craving smashed immediately. What I saw was unlike any orange chicken I have ever ate before. Orange chicken and sesame chicken look the same almost and taste alot alike but not similar. But the chicken is chucks dipped in some kind of breading u know what I'm talking about if you eat Chinese. Well what I saw was no accident and I was not given the wrong meal, but I was given a meal that the cook obviously had no clue how to cook. Even being in business for so long I don't get how you do not know how to cook orange chicken yet I get everyone cooks there's different. But not like this. They put the chicken that goes with almond chicken in my container with no sauce no veggies but piled thchicken with cut oranges and the sauce they gave me on the side was sweet and sour sauce wth. Also the almond chicken gravy was definitely different looks and taste hard to explain that one. The crab Rangoon on the other hand omg it was nauseating. I pulled one in half to dip it in the duck sauce because they obviously don't know what type of sauce goes with crab Rangoon and as I pulled it apart a big soft but hard ball of filling falls out of it leaving nothing left inside. It was so old looking I literally couldn't keep what chicken I was able to swallow down. I am not a picky eater I love all foods and I rarely ever complain but this place charges me 35 dollars for nasty old food. Definitely would...
Read moreFirst time ordering. Decided to order from Google reviews and didn't have a menu. Drove 9 miles from home to pick up food.....not exactly around the block. Was late in evening when picked up order. Ordered an order of almond boneless chicken, pint of shrimp fried rice and egg rolls. Lady who took order did not ask if wanted combo almond chicken or quart. I assumed it would be a quart, as I did not ask for a combo. When got home and opened, it was combo. The brown rice with combo was horrible--flavorless...was looking forward to WHITE RICE with the almond chicken. By that time, they were closed. Called her the next day just to tell her the order was wrong. She claimed she always asks if customers wants a combo or not. I have never ordered a combo from any chinese restaurant. She was EXTREMELY RUDE. Wanted me to bring food back. Told her wouldn't have done that last night either, as she is not close to me and should be happy I drove that far to try her restaurant. After asking what I wanted, and me telling her just inform her the order was incorrect, I asked her what she wanted to do. She ranted about bringing the food back and then hung up on me Left a very bad impression for first...
Read moreI've visited this place many times as it is only blocks from my house and I will continue my patronage.
The inside seems more suited to a dingy fax and copy store, but it's a carry-out place and they've really taken to a utilitarian approach. Btw, don't touch the Jade plant on the counter, they're touchy about it...
The food is alright, nothing to rave about. It's really about a consistent quality- I've never been served a bad dish- and very moderate pricing. As for the freshness of their ingredients, they're never stale or bland, nor are they astoundingly fresh. Again, it's in the consistency.
They offer very cheap all day lunch specials on five or six dishes (i.e. sweet and sour chicken, general tsao's chicken, almond chicken, etc.) and cheap dinner specials as well (wider selection, larger portions and an egg roll). The full menu is reasonably extensive.
I would suggest this if you're looking for carry-out Chinese food and don't want to be disappointed with a bad meal. For the price, you can't beat it...
