Some of the food received was pretty good. Such as Shrimp wonton soup or the appetizers/salad. Other items I've had over time were good but nothing amazing. (And that is the Only Reason It's 3 stars. Because I am not gonna rate 1 star on 1 item.)
But my first time ordering Tom Yum soup (specifically from this restaurant) was barf-o-rama. And I am a avid Tom Yum, Tom kha gai eater. All the flavors used are not for everyone...... but I'm no noob. I absolutely know what to expect.
I am glad so many people like you.... but your attitude/service is full of yourself. Mistakes can be made, customers can be winnable. But at this point I'll drive to places I know are authentic, delicious, not full of hype and treat me with respect. And also, a place that doesn't put out a Soup that is clearly Funky. Something was wrong with the meat or the soup or a combination of old meat and bad broth. Either way, something wasn't good quality. Something was off and shouldn't have made it to me. And you shouldn't treat people like uncultured idiots rather than accept some kind of fault or make a situation right.
Not everyone is trying it for the first time. Some people know exactly what to expect. Maybe that person isn't just some stupid white person who thinks Chinese/Thai/Japanese is all the same. I don't know what it is other than maybe too much hype or pride. But I've been to hole in the walls more delicious and respectful and kind....
Read moreI've ordered from this place 20 or so times since moving here 2015. A couple years ago I'd take friends and family here and recommend the place to everyone. My take out orders have always been timely, and the pad thai and their curries have great taste. I really like the vegetables in the curry.
However, after these last five orders or so I'm ready to find a different Thai restaurant. Their "mild" has become increasingly spicy to the point that it is just a pain to eat. Even my spice-loving sister was having trouble enjoying her red thai noodles. The "mild" definitely wasn't this hot when I first started coming to the restaurant, and it's been disappointing. You are at the mercy of what the cook determines to be mild that day, and after giving it a few more tries I'm just burnt out on trying to enjoy food that I used to love from here.
So if you like playing spicy Russian Roulette, come here. Otherwise, look for another Thai place to frequent as I am now doing.
Edit: they've also limited the customization options on the menu (ex: spice on side, extra veggies, brown...
Read moreApparently, they recently halved(roughly) the size of the dinner portion for pad Thai. Used to get carryouts a few months back and the container would be almost unable to close because it was so full. Maybe half full today. Called to ask and they confirmed that they made the portion smaller. Very disappointed. I'm hungrier than this portion size. Gonna end up going back out again later now or having to cook when I'm exhausted from work this week.... I would much much rather see a price increase than a portion reduction. This is a huge pet peeve. All sorts of companies do it, it's just normally seen at the grocery store being done by huge corporations. Not the thai spot down the road... Prime Thai is looking like it's gonna be the spot if I want pad Thai now. Sorry.
Post-reply to owner... When I called and asked if the dinner portion had changed sizes, I spoke to the same girl that took my order and cashed me out. She told me other people had asked that recently too, and that the dinner portion had changed sizes. And was told to...
