The Hoffman review is indicative of the owner... My family, friends, and I have been faithful customers for many years.
I will not use my wife's ugly expereince to degrade the entire business.
Up until the other day when my wife was rudely and unjustifiably treated disrespectfully on the phone when placing an order, and then in person with such disregard by this same owner that the Hoffman review is referring to, Heroes has been a pleasure.
I have made good aquantainances at the establishment, the bartenders are always polite, friendly and prompt, the food is 90% good on takeouts and 100% great if you stay and eat.
My family and friends that I have introduced to the establishment have spent good money with the business, even when they were on their knuckles like so many other businesses during the darkest days of the Pandemic. We continued to support through take outs and curbside.
The owner is rude, caustic, and takes the patrons for granted. The manager, John, is one of the most pleasent, courteous, and friendly people you ever want to meet. His corny jokes are always amusing and his demeanor, always respectful of the patrons.
My family, freinds, nor I will patronize this place any longer because I can't spend the kind of money that I do and they do, tip well and then be disrespected.
When confronted with his curt, disdainful phone manners to my wife, insetad of apologizing and owning his behavior, he blamed the volume of customers and even my wife for ordering at what he felt was an inconvienant moment.
Losing my family's, friends, and relative's dollars won't hurt the owner. The business will do just fine without us. It may, however, hurt the bartenders, and waitresses who depend on the tips of good paying, regular customers like we were.
His (the owner's) behavior and fragile ego will cost the business as long as he interacts with the public. He has been spoiled by the decent money he earns from the business and does not realize that it is the customers who afford him a living, not the other way around.
Indeed I will miss going to the place but not nearly enough to spend my hard-earned dollars with a rude, disrespectful, insolent owner who flies off the handle and has no business acumen as it relates to the public. Each blow like this hurts the businesses' reputation one hit at a time.
Keep in mind, Mr. Owner, that people do not have to come to a bar. People can eat at home, drink at home for much cheaper. Patronizing a business, especially in the hospitality profession is a choice not a need.
It's because people enjoy the environment, atmosphere, and feel regarded and respected for their choice to do business with you. Once you forget that, it's eventually curtains for the business over time.
I am done with Heroes. So are my friends. Word gets around.
Here is one of a few reviews I found about this owner...there is a pattern here...

Read moreToday my coworkers and I went to Heros Restaurant for lunch as we have done plenty of times. This one particular waitress, older lady who we see most time when we dine there is always very short, not pleasant at all when she is our server. We decided to let the owner know about our experience with the waitress, he proceeded to tell us yes he know she short, tough, shows no love and not pleasant at all and for us to come back on Wednesdays when she not there, that's her off day. Owner didn't even address the poor service we got from this waitress , we were Shocked. It was so obvious she was a relative to the owner. If you're going to have your wife, girlfriend, mistress or friend work for you make sure they represent your business in a good way. Wow I said are you serious he was very serious. Myself and coworkers made the decision right then and there we would not patronize Heros ever again. When we got our check we gave our tip to the server who gives us water and make sure we are good, if there is anything we need and who is always attentive to our needs. We've had meetings there and have even hung out after work, in spite of the not so good service we've received in the past. In addition to the horrible service, the owner ran to my car to say to us "If you are going to stiff my waitress on the tip, you can go somewhere else to eat, don't come back here!!" Huh? What? Where do they do that at? Does he honestly think we will EVER come back to this place? Horrible service, will never come here again and will tell all my colleagues. Word of Mouth is Powerful!!! I will take my money where elsewhere, thank...
Read moreJust had the worst experience I've ever had in the hospitality industry, and I've worked at an elite country club the last 8 years!! TIM, is the rudest, most arrogant business owner I have ever encountered! We just spent $54.00 on a carry out, we typically order from them at least 1-2 times a month and usually get the whitefish and ribs. This time I got these terrible garlic mashed potatos with my whitefish instead of the Dutchess Potatos that clearly states on the menu it comes with the dinner (which I have always got in the past). I called them to let them know and to my surprise, TIM the owner, rudely told me that's what comes with the carry out orders & its the same potato and that if I didn't like it than DINE IN next time. He than proceeded to tell me he didn't like the way I was talking to him and literally hung up on me, I couldn't believe it!! As evident below, I have attached the receipt that even shows Dutchess Potatos on my order. So all I can say is we will never promote Heros or step foot in this place again. Oh and by the way, both dinners were awful! Please go somewhere else!! There are far too many other resturants where the owners would be more than happy & appreciative to have your business, specially during these difficult times, unlike TIM at Heros!! Shame on him, as he just lost a loyal customer that will continue to steer people away from his resturant. By the way Lions Den is awesome, it not only has great food but excellent...
