My mother passed away two years ago and she left me a family heirloom that meant a lot to me. So, I was heartbroken when it separated from the chain but I had high hopes it could be repaired. I took it to a jeweler in Aptos but after 3 weeks, they had not even started the job on it and when I enquired how long it would take, they could not give me an answer on when they could get job done ( not any timeline at all!), so I picked it up and headed to Johns. It was the best decision I made! They not only repaired it in a week but were caring and provided excellent customer service. This will be my new place to take jewelry if I need it fixed and the only place I recommend to anyone! I took a wedding band I had made out of the country for my fiancé. It ended up being a bit too small because I didn't take into account the width of the band. I was so worried because it was not comfortable for him to wear. John’s Jewelers did a marvelous job on two custom projects for me. After 40 years, the setting on my engagement ring lost one of its swirls and the prongs holding the diamond wore down. They recreated the lost swirl and redid the prongs. Both look as good as new. They also did a second project. I lost an earring that had a beautiful blue topaz and diamond setting. Rather than throw away the remaining earring, I asked them to convert it to a pendant. They did and it looks like it was always intended to be a pendant.
