The owners are very nice, however; some things that were told to me were not true. First this place is very expensive for what you get plus they add a service charge for things you do not get good service for. I was told that I would have a staff at my evening event that was helpful, but really they have hired 2 people from what seems to be a group home or slightly disabled and neither one could answer one question. The only person that could answer a question was one of the owners and she was trying to run the bar, the mic (the mics were crappy and kept going out ). The hook up for the slide show is not up to date. Also I had a taco bar buffet style which means people can go back as many times until food run out. However, they only supply 1 plate per person and ask that they take the same dirty plate back to what should be a clean bar. So if the serving utensils touch their plates, it is now contaminated. So be prepared to bring your own additional plates. Also they charge you $3 for what they said is box water but it came from a dispenser. Also I was told that they would Talley my bar like a cash register but they really were making Talley marks on paper and several people told me that they marked twice for their drink. Finally I was told if there was not an event before mine, I could get in earlier to put up my decorations, as they really do not have center pieces, but when I arrived they didnโt want to let me in or charge me $1,500 If they did. Eventually they let me in after I explained what was told to me. Because I wanted to be safe with my bill, I ended my event early just to make sure I wasnโt billed later. Again the staff is nice, the bathrooms are clean but the service is horrible and you will be told different information by different staff. Too expensive and if I wasnโt pressed for time, I would have moved to another venue. I recommend you look for another place with better service and updated...
ย ย ย Read moreMe & my three chihuahuas come here & take a 30 minute walk on the trail that surrounds the lake all the time. It is so, so clean here & there are free dog poo waste bags available at the trashcan if needed. They have small boats available to rent & you can fish here also. There are benches available to sit on around the whole trail also. Everyone is so friendly & pleasant. It has never been overly crowded even when the parking lot is full. There is a jungle gym for kids to play on & I love that they have 2 dog park areas, one for small dogs & one for large dogs. Me & my 3 chihuahuas came & watched the fourth of July fireworks. I forgot to mention admission is free if you live in Butler county. But, I've never seen anyone ever check for any identification,so, it's been free to everyone when I've been there & I'm there alot. There are no large shade trees on the walking path around the lake probably because the park has not been established as long as other nearby parks like Sharon woods. There are clean bathrooms always available too. Me & my 3 chihuahuas just love...
ย ย ย Read moreI am new to area and have heard people rave about this park. After going there it seemed kinda meh to me. Maybe I will try it again. Seems like there are lots of pretty areas for a park in this region. This one seems flat and largely devoid of trees but I guess it's kind of the point since it's called a prairie area. Used to live 10 miles from Kensington Metropark which was a relatively hilly park, heavily wooded with lakes etc-- in a flat area (SE Mich). Here you have a flat, kinda barren park in a slightly more hilly surrounding area. Just seems odd. Not saying this area in general isn't pretty, it is. I just didn't get the gushing for this particular park I guess....there must not be many...
