Casa Mateo Fonda Bar — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

NEVER in my life have my family been asked to remove ourselfs from a table because the waitress wanted to sit another family (customers she clearly knew) after spending $ 180 . Me and my family drove 3 1/2 hours to eat at CASA MATEO AND IT WAS THE WORST! We sat in the patio . Took my husband here for fathers day and goneslty worse idea. The servise is HORRIBLE . We even had 2 servers which is wild. Our table was cleared after we had our apps ( the serve came took all our silvewares and drinks like she wanted us to leave.) Then they forgot mine and my daughters food. ( she came and asked what we had clearly they didnt know) . I told her we were waiting on a few items . She comes back with my daughters food and then still forgot my food. By this time i told her just do t make my food and to bring a water. The water never came so I asked again . The server came about 4 minutes later and gave them to me with an attitude. We asked for our check like 3 times never got it. Finally a family walks in and I over here the server tell them oh this table is leaving. Then she comes and tells us if were ready to go . I tell her were still waiting on bill then she brought the bill even tho we had asked more then 3 time. I visited this place after my favorite soccer team from Colombia won the national league on June 14th. The first floor closes at 10:00 pm, so we decided to go to the second, the disco area. First, it took forever for someone to come to our table and take the order. Then, when someone finally did, the music was so stupidly loud that it was hard to talk. Since I was with my father and fiance, we ordered three different things, including a cocktail.

After maybe 30 or 45 minutes, the cocktail never arrived (the other two were beers), so we decided to leave because of the lousy service. Finally, they charged us without our approval and even 15% of the tip, maybe illegally. When I talked to the manager, she justified the horrible attention and the tip fee. I strongly suggest not visiting this place. Chicago has much better places to go, enjoy your time, and spend your money. By the time I write this, they have an average of 3.1 stars over 90 reviews; you can tell I am not the only one who believes this place...

What a find - super random visit to this restaurant, met a friend moving in close by.

Great aguardiente options - must try.

The menu options are "right-on", as you can see from the picture there's no holding back, full butterflies chicken breast. No paper thing fillet here.

Very generous portions, will definately leave satisfied. We had the chicken soup, with a tasty broth.

Also a chicken filet meal, which as you can see was colorful with traditional Colombian seasonings.
