WAS MY FAVORITE PLACE????
Around Saturday February 27th. We went to eat our favorite dish "Huachinando a la Diabla" and Caldo de Mariscos. Normally asked to have the Caldo split in 2 Plates all fine . Not a big deal . Normally came to the restaurant like once a week before the pandemic... We were very well known and all the waitress were really Nice.. on this day, went to get the Caldo as usual.. decided to just get the Caldo. Since we came inside we noticed they were whispering. so this lady came to the table... We order the Caldo de Mariscos and asked to get it split in 2 Plates like usual.. the lady said. NO they can't do that.. the chef is too busy now and it's impossible to have it done.. lol. We're like...... Ooook.. have no idea what they always thought about it.. we always left around 8$ to 10$ tips...Las Islistas was indeed a favorite place but when you feel NOT welcome anymore well I think it's time to find another Cantina( as we used to call it). Read moreFirst time visiting this location, Not a good experience! My husband & I decided to get dinner and our usual place closes @9 so we decided to try something new and go to this place. I ordered a paella & he ordered guachinango ala Veracruzana. The only thing good we’re the empanadas!! My food was not the best but ok had no flavor. The guachinango he ordered had a really bad taste from one side like the fish was spoiled, he tried to eat it from one side but just could not eat it. We told the waitress but she said he couldn’t do anything because the owner was gone. I guess we should’ve checked the reviews first because this place seems to be very popular when it comes to bad experiences smh definitely never coming back here. & no I did not leave a tip for a service and food I was not...
Read moreIt was my first time here , and I do not plan on returning. I ordered the molcajeteada my husband a ceviche and we shared an order of Balazos. The molcajeteada was bland it had very little steak that was over cooked but plenty of chicken of course no seasoning, if it did have any maybe it got over powered by the flavorless salsa it was swimming in. The balazos get served with plenty of bitter salsa on top and plenty of onion. The service, although the place was not nowhere near full, was slow. On the positive side, the beer was cold, and I enjoyed that, and the bathrooms were clean. This is my opinion. Maybe I came on a bad day but of course, I guess I will never know since I will definitely not...
