I had mixed feelings about my experience with the hair and makeup team for my wedding. The booking and scheduling process was frustrating due to miscommunication from one of the coordinators. I had initially expressed uncertainty about the number of artists needed and was assured I could add more later. However, it was not conveyed that this wasn’t guaranteed. At one point, I was told there wouldn’t be enough artists for everyone, but after explaining the situation, they were able to find one additional artist. In the end, I had three artists instead of the four I had hoped for.

That said, the hair and makeup were absolutely gorgeous! The artists are extremely talented, and their work made me and my bridal party look stunning. My wedding photos are beautiful because of their skills. Unfortunately, the timeline wasn't followed well by my hair artist. While I understand timelines can shift on wedding days, I had completed a strict schedule they provided outlining the allocated time for each person. My hair artist went over the schedule by an hour and a half, which caused me to lose that same amount of time for wedding photography. This was especially disappointing because of the photography expense, and missing out on those photos at a planned location was a huge loss.

Rare Bird Beauties were excellent to work with for my wedding! Courtney (makeup) and Laura (hair) are both FANTASTIC. They were so lovely when I met them at my wedding preview, and I knew that they’d be amazing on my wedding day for me plus 7 wedding party members/family. I had queer friends in my wedding party and listed pronouns when I sent all our names to Rare Bird, and this was 100% accepted without comment. My male friend in my wedding party received hair and makeup services, and everyone at Rare Bird was completely normal about all of this, which I really appreciated. My friends commented how fun both Courtney and Laura were to hang out with on the wedding day - they were a great team. We all looked amazing; everyone’s services were exactly what they asked for. So many people commented on my hair/makeup especially on the wedding day!! It was perfect. Rare Bird had a small scheduling issue before the wedding and it was handled immediately with no issues. Ioana is amazing to work with - she has an incredible business and team! Ioana was also the artist I worked with for my engagement shoot makeup and she obviously did a flawless job. If you are looking for your wedding hair & makeup (or for any special event)- STOP LOOKING NOW AND BOOK RARE BIRD BEAUTIES. From solely a customer service standpoint, they were absolutely incredible to work with and responded to any questions or concerns prior to the event/trial. During my trail hair/makeup, I really felt that they listened to everything I said and genuinely wanted me to feel and look beautiful. I even decided after that I wanted to make some edits, and they offered to call me to chat through the edits and ensure I was comfortable with everything before the wedding day.

Aside from them just being a pleasure to work with- the results are STUNNING. I have been in many weddings and I always fear the first reveal of a smokey eye and a red lip at 8am, when I said "natural". Rare Birds made every single one girl in the bridal party look SO STUNNING- like natural and radiant, but as a Victoria Secret model. My maid of honor even asked Jenn while doing her hair is she could cut bangs so she could pull off a hairstyle she found, and without batting an eye she whipped out her scissor and created a masterpiece
