After many years of being customers exclusively at Jared's for our jewelry needs, I have to say I am honestly disappointed in the experiences I have had recently. Most of the staff has made me feel that I am not worth their time and effort. Regardless of someone's price point, each customer should be given the same energy and effort. I was looking for something specific as a 10-year anniversary upgrade for my wedding ring. I had liked a ring but was not fully in love with it was in rose gold which I did not want. I did not want to spend the money on a ring I was not in love with and had several important features I wanted. I stopped in numerous times over the course of a couple weeks and each time felt I was brushed off because I maybe did not seem "serious enough" or the more likely reasoning "wealthy enough". I basically was told what I wanted was totally doable as a custom but then when it came to actually wanting to start it was not likely available. I ended up working with Helzberg on a more custom piece and they went above and beyond to make sure I was getting what I wanted. This purchase ended up costing more than double of that original ring from Jared's and I will likely be purchasing through Helzberg from now on. Also, throughout this entire experience I had family members who have always been Jared's customers witness this and they too were appalled. Regardless of someone coming in to spend $1000 or $10,000+, your customers will remember how you prioritized them. Though I did have a lower budget at first, when it really comes down to it, I will spend what I need to on what I love. This is exactly what I did but with another company who took the time to get to know my wants, source in what I was looking for, and piece together all the details I wanted in my new wedding ring. Thank you to the entire Jared's team for not taking my husband and me serious during the several visits we made to give you the opportunity to make a sale. I also look forward to working with different company in the near future on the numerous custom pieces I...
   Read moreTL;DR: Condescending and ignorant.
I recently purchased a 1.5 karat moissanite engagement ring online. I got a great deal since the moissanite itself was of inferior clarity. I then purchased a separate loose 1.5 karat moissanite replacement stone of perfect clarity in order to get the stones exchanged. So I had an engagement ring with an inferior moissanite setting and a separate loose moissanite.
I took the engagement ring and loose stone to Jared at Jordan Creek since I knew that they do settings on-location. The woman I spoke to treated me condescendingly after I told her that the loose stone was not a diamond (I hadn't yet told her that the engagement ring stone was also not a diamond). She did tests on the engagement ring stone and found that it was a diamond (which is incorrect), then asked me, "Why would you want to replace such a beautiful diamond with a fake stone?"
She took the engagement ring and showed it to the jewelers in the back, which was still within earshot, and I heard them speaking mockingly about my situation. Ultimately, the jewelers refused to work on my ring because it wasn't an "actual gemstone," stating falsely that the moissanite was not durable enough to withstand the heat and chemicals needed in order to replace the setting.
In addition to the fact that its clarity and shimmer outshines diamond, moissanite has a higher vaporization temperature (heat resistance) than diamond, as well as higher toughness (chip resistance) than diamond. The only area in which moissanite is inferior is hardness (scratch resistance), in which it is a mere 5% softer than diamond. The jewelers stated that they would be willing to work with other "real" stones such as ruby and emerald, which is ridiculous since the durability of those stones pales in comparison to moissanite.
It is therefore my conclusion that not only does this particular Jared have poor customer care, but it also exhibits ignorance as to the structure of gemstones. That, or they are simply too pretentious to handle gems that could been seen as...
Read moreI normally donât do reviews, but this one I had to. On 10/28 I called the Jordan Creek store in Des Moines, IA to inquire about pricing my rings to have them sorted together. I spoke with Chris answering all of my questions intelligently. I told him it was 3 rings, he quoted me $59x2. I was thinking great. He then proceeded to say if there is anything that need to be done it would be $219. I ask so if prongs or something needs to be tightened thatâs all included in the $219 (sorter, clean, and whatever else) Chris says âyesâ. I stated great!! How long does it take to get it back? Chris say 7-10 days. He said if you bring it today which was Saturday or Monday or Tuesday even it will be okay. I said great!! Very excited. So I went into the store 10/30. There were 2 store associates standing male and female. Myself and two co workers walked in the store.(2 African American women, 1 Hispanic male) we were not greeted properly. That should have been a sign to leave. Do I did finally talked to the male associate. I told him what I needed. He gives me this outrageous price of $219x2 to sorter the rings. So I tell him thatâs not what Chris quoted me over the phone. Do he texts Chris. Chris never texted back so the white male store rep says. I waited probably about 30 minutes. I asked you canât call him? No heâs at a managers meeting @ 6:00pm? By now I am feeling some kind of way. Because find out Chris is the manager you canât take my word as to what I was quoted? I would not have known Chris if he walked through the doors. So I took my rings and stayed just give them to me I donât like how I am being made feel. I donât like using the word but the staff at the Jordan Creek store showed the worst of its kind RACISM!! For that alone that store has tainted how I feel about all...
