It's a nice area. I was blessed to get to see the finest and most creative and knowledgeable Certified Pedorthist ever at The Fitting Place, Kai, the owner and the kind Jan that greeted me each time. I have had severe problems and excruciating pain in both feet all of my life and they became much worse after some things that were done in Knoxville, Tennessee which includes my right lower extremity and ankle " CRPS ". I didn't realize until after coming here that I am not able to stand long or walk in the average houseslippers or any shoes that I have ever owned plus due to my feet no shoes or inserts that I ever owned would help me until coming here and they were never the correct size. I have to wear surgical shoes bilateral instead of houseslippers and some other times. I will still need some modifications done and the over the counter Heatable and Moldable Inserts Reheated and done again but I will call and set up an appointment and I have no doubt all will be taken care of. For custom molded orthotics and medical shoes a Practioners order is required but they create theirs here and this makes a huge difference even in the design and quality of them. Many places do part and send the information out to have them done. The concept of how they can study your feet here is genius. Personally, he knows more about what is needed than all the Doctor's I have seen. If you want to try the Heatable Moldable Inserts done here you shouldn't need an order or prescription and shoes, etc. can be purchased and baked here. There is a nice showroom and they can order whatever size and width you need from the brands they carry. I went to Michael's and found some items that I was desperate for. I went to the Pet Foods, Aquariums,etc. and found some pet tennis balls that I was able to cut an X and leave for a man with an old style aluminum walker that the two back legs drug the ground and to JETHRO'S BBQ two times and will probably go again. Gordman's GONE, but still have Michael's craft store & Iowa Pet Foods (my go to store for dog food & supplies). I am not sure if Fitness place is open (COVID); Is there a Florist still there? Still has Bridgstone Auto Ctr on far North end. I do believe there is still a Specialty Shoe Store open. Restaurant is big??? McD's & locally owned restaurant located out in East parking lot area; Bank iopen in NE parking lot area; may be another chain restaurant across main entrance...

Love this place but this wasn't my best experience. The Ultimate BLT is usually outstanding. Must've been an off day. Onion rings were overcooked. Stood at rhe seating desk for quite awhile b4 someone came to seat up. Server didn't really care. (He wasn't really busy) That said, the last time I was there, it was a wonderful experience.
