The Art Spot on 25th — Local services in West Des Moines

We held our daughter's 5th birthday party at The Art Spot on 25th. It was an amazing experience and I can't recommend it enough. We had an intimate group of about 8 kiddos + their caregivers - although, the space easily could have accommodated more.

We arrived to a well-decorated spot and we brought only a balloon bouquet, a few sparkly table decorations, and the napkins, cups, plates.

Jana took care of EVERYTHING else.

We were warmly welcomed with personalized signage in several spots. Jana had set up tables for food and gifts. She also coordinated with us to arrange for cupcakes that were personalized to match our mermaid theme.

Each kiddo received a personalized apron and had a spot set up with canvas, easel, paints, and brushes. Jana walked them through the painting process step-by-step and it was so fun to watch their creativity as each kiddo took their own path.

As our daughter opened presents, Jana handled recording gifts as they were opened. She saved gift bags, gathered all gifts in a larger bag for easy transport to the car, and she wrapped the time by playing some fun games with the girls.

She also built out beautifully themed mermaid gift packages as party favors that included some great take-aways like paint, canvases, and specialty candy/snack items.

At the end of the party, we packed up our car and kiddo and we didn't have to lift a finger cleaning up.

The best part? Each kiddo left with their beautiful mermaid paintings on canvas...

Ms. Jana helped me give my son the best 7th birthday ever! I was looking for a place to do some kind of paint party for him and The Art Spot on 25th exceeded my expectations! Jana is a wonderful human being. I came to Jana 2 weeks before the party and she was so understanding and ready to get to work in creating an amazing party for my son. She gave me all the details on the first day of speaking and was gentle and patient with me. I just came back from a vacation so I was stressed about how I would decorate and all. Jana had the place already decorated and set up. She even let my son help her make his welcome sign and he was already excited, happy, and comfortable with her despite his shyness. She allowed me to bring other things to set up and food. One thing that helped me the most is her creating the beautiful goody bags for my sons guest and it was amazing the kids loved it. In all reality I didn’t have to do anything but show up! She was so great to the children each guest had personal validations from Jana and they loved her. I told her I’m brining my son back for some classes because they had an instant connection. I recommend this place for anyone who has children who love art! It’s a beautiful place and the atmosphere is absolutely great. Thank you for an amazing birthday...

Wonderful experience for my kiddos aged 6 and 7 who attended the mixed media summer day camp. Miss Jana is tailor-made for this role. Incredibly kind and knowledgeable. She has an artist's paradise of a studio-- beautiful and full of an array of supplies for creating anything from simple and sweet (one day one of their creations they painted giant ladybugs) to unconventional and extraordinary (another they transformed large sticks with paint and ample embellishments). Miss Jana encourages the artistic process in a way that promotes thinking outside of the box and not being so critical of oneself (one of the several books she read to the group throughout the week, "Beautiful Oops!" helped relate that well to their young minds). Miss Jana wants you to come on in and kick off your shoes (quite literally if your little ones so desire as mine did!). She will encourage self-confidence and self-acceptance. She wants you to embrace the creative process and enjoy creating artwork as unique as you. My kids look forward to attending again and I hope to explore opportunities for adult art classes with...
