Wolcott Park is a fantastic recreational spot that has quickly become one of my favorite places to spend time outdoors. The park features 6 to 8 well-maintained pickleball courts, which are almost always lively with friendly players of all levels. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned player, it’s a great place to jump into a game or practice your skills.
In addition to pickleball, the park also has 4 full-size tennis courts that are in excellent condition. The courts are surrounded by trees and greenery, offering a peaceful and scenic backdrop while you play.
The entire park is beautifully landscaped, with wide open green spaces, walking paths, and shaded areas perfect for relaxing or having a picnic. It feels safe, clean, and welcoming—ideal for families, fitness enthusiasts, or anyone just looking for a breath of fresh air.
Wolcott Park is a true local treasure, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, active, and visually beautiful...
Read moreWolcott Park is a 28 acre park located in West Hartford, CT. There are tennis & pickle ball courts, little league field, soccer & athletic fields, basketball courts, playground, splash pad, boardwalk, trails, picnic tables, and nature preserve. If you like being outdoors, this is the perfect spot to enjoy it.
There are two parking lots. I parked by the playground and splash pad. There was a porta potty there. The playground had swings, a sandbox, and a playscape. There is a large pond and a short boardwalk that goes through a nature preserve. There is a short paved trail in the middle of the park. There were many picnic tables and benches throughout. I'm betting this is a great spot to go sledding during the winter since there are many hills there. Overall, a nice park and my family and...
Read moreLove this park, but my granddaughter and I were very disappointed that the splash pad was being repaired in the summer time. It prevented so many people from staying and enjoying the park that day. Since it was much to hit and humid to stay without the wonderful splash pad open. ) : I was very confused why such a repair would be completed during the time when the splash pad was needed the most to enjoy this park, since the playground is all sun. No trees for any shade in the playground area at all. Without the splash pad it is in unusable in Summer. Repairs should have been done in fall and or early spring. Unfortunately, poor planning hampered a great day for us and many other visitors...
