My family really enjoys places like Nickel Mania. Nickel Mania, as well as the other type of 'nickel' arcades, etc. around the valley are the kinds of places our family never seems to get tired of going to. That being said, Nickel Mania seems to lead the way with some super impressive features: First up is that not only does it appear clean, it smells clean, and I have personallt witnessed the employees periodically going around to the different games and wiping them down. That alone is enough to get me in there. Second, the building is set up such that there is only one way in and out of the building (for customers - I am sure the employees have a separate entrance and that, in the case of an emergency, another exit could be used.) Finally, not only do they have a good selection of new games, they also have an entire section devoted to pinball cabinets and original video game cabinets from the 80's - some are definitely original. Usually the service is pretty good. However, the last time I was in there I caught one of the prize counter employees being quite rude. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt in that I have seen a lot of teens go in there to cause trouble. Hopefully I will have something better to report the next time we go there. It currently costs $2.50 per person to enter and runs around 200...
Read moreCame to a birthday party yesterday and this man grabbed me and told me I couldn’t take a drink in the back my moms a diabetic she needed her soda I was taking it to the party room. He first stopped me saying I needed to pay to get in I showed him my hand he said ok still what about the drink you can’t bring drinks in I called my mom to come get a drink so I could take it back to the car he said if you don’t take it to the car right now I’ll call the police I told him to call them my son was still inside the establishment and once I found him we would leave long story short I even bought my son cards to play aside from the birthday the manager wouldn’t refund my money nor did the manager correct his employee will not ever return to this establishment this dude acted like he had more authority than the manager and the manager allowed it. Then they let my mom take the drink to the party room anyways so what was the point of stopping me threaten to call the cops because I waited for her to get a drink so ridiculous you need better employees this is a kid establishment. Read moreI've been going to Nicklemania for a very long time. Initially the State St. location and now this West Jordan location. I do still sometimes go to the Midvale location though.
This place is great for families, taking kids or having kids birthday parties. Or gathering up your friends for some nostalgia as they do have a great collection of retro arcade machines and fighting games. The majority of the games are old and nothing modern that you'd find at a more expensive arcade. However the exception to that is pinball. They do have some of the newer connected, Stern Pinball tables and they are fantastic. Then they have the super addictive ticket machines that I think almost everyone loves to pour time and money into.
The only con I have is they do have a few Stern Pinball tables that could be upgraded with the insider connect feature. This feature is great for having up to four to five people sign in with a QR code and have competitive play. The game tracks the player, score etc and beams achievements and tracks your score online. So yes, they do have a few tables with this. But they could have more if they upgraded the current tables that don't have the feature with the upgrade kit.
Keep up...
