I am extremely disappointed with my experience. I placed an order for a cake in advance and chose a specific pickup time around 2pm to 3pm. However, when I almost arrived at the store around and I was told the cake was not ready and would take another 40 minutes to finish. What was even more frustrating was that the store didn’t notify me of this until I was already close to the store, and their response was very dismissive, showing no sense of responsibility. I understand that sometimes unforeseen circumstances can happen, but as a business, it is their basic responsibility to notify customers in advance and apologize sincerely. The way they handled the situation made it seem like they didn’t care about customer experience at all. This experience has seriously eroded my trust in this store. So glad I found this place! I usually like to go to 85C for my asian pastries, but this is a lot closer to me. I was so surprised they had green thai tea!!! It’s one of my favorite drinks and a lot of places either don’t have it or butcher the drink. Although it didn’t quite taste like how I expected it to taste, the drink itself still tasted like a green thai tea and was pretty good, just a bit on the sweeter side though. The pastries all looked so good and I was tempted to buy them all but just chose to get a chocolate pastry. It was light and not overly sweet! This was the perfect study snack! Yao Bakery is a true hidden gem! I haven't had authentic Hong Kong-style egg tarts in such a long time, and discovering this place felt like finding a treasure. The flavors are reminiscent of the lost tastes I’ve been longing for, and it’s clear that everything is crafted with great care by the owner. The bakery offers an incredible variety of breads, cakes, and egg tarts — I was truly amazed by the sheer number of options!
