Initially, I was satisfied with my service at this salon. However, there were several issues that left me disappointed. When booking, it states there is a $20 fee for the removal of poly gel, acrylic, or UV gel. I was charged this fee to remove regular hard gel in order to replace it with the exact same product — something the website does not clearly clarify. If additional charges apply for new clients or specific services, that should be stated upfront.

Nine days after my appointment, my nails began to visibly lift, even though I opted for the additional poly gel for durability. I attempted to contact the salon through the booking platform (Vargo) and Instagram but received no response after waiting several business days. Eventually, on day 15, I called to explain my concerns and requested to speak with the owner.

As someone who has been getting Russian gel manicures in NYC for over five years, I’m aware that occasional lifting can happen. Still, reputable salons have always been transparent about that and professional in handling such concerns. Unfortunately, the tone and attitude of the person who claimed to be the owner came off as dismissive and unprofessional. She emphasized their 200+ five-star reviews and insisted this issue had never occurred before, while also implying that I may have caused the problem due to improper care or cleaning products — despite my experience with this type of manicure.

My nails are now more brittle and breaking than ever, even after sitting for three hours for a Russian manicure and French tips with poly gel. Typically, these appointments take no more than two hours. The fact that they began lifting in just over a week is very disappointing.

While the service itself wasn’t terrible, I was not happy with the quality of the manicure, the time it took, or how my concerns were addressed. I really wanted to support this salon — especially since it came recommended by a friend whose nails always look great — but perhaps I just didn’t book with the right technician. Super disappointed wouldn’t recommend inconsiderate and unprofessional. I was near the area when I called in to get a Russian manicure at 11AM they told me they didn’t have an opening until 12PM to come in at 12PM For my service. Since I was near the area I decided to come early and look for parking, once I was parked I called in again to ask if It were possible to soak my nails before my appointment since I was already outside waiting, the host on the phone said no to come in at the time of the appointment I even told her I was already outside waiting so she was aware that I was there. I patiently wait an entire hour outside I walk in at 12pm sharp I come inside and have same person I was on the phone with me tell me they only take appointments with a 30$ deposit and that somebody else came in and took my appointment like what!? You told me to come in at 12 not one time did she mention a deposit, and second of all how dare you make me waste an hour of my day then to not service me! When I mentioned I waited a full hour outside she said didn’t know I was waiting outside which is a full blown lie I called twice to let her know about it! Why would you guys not call me back as soon as you took another appointment super selfish,inconsiderate and unprofessional in so many ways. This place clearly doesn’t care about their customers super greedy they clearly double booked to see who would come in so they won’t lose out on money but ended up losing a customer instead. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you value your time, plus there is a dog in there that greets people at the door warning for those who are...

Norma did my nails and did an AMAZING job. I’ve had issues with my cuticles my whole life and I’ve been to my fair share of nail salons and this one is the absolute best. The cost, the quality, the atmosphere is unbeatable.

Norma has a distinct passion for what she does. She doesn’t man-handle you, is extremely cognizant, and overall just a pleasure to have as your nail tech. Norma also provided so much information on how I can revitalize and care for my nails and hands.

The atmosphere in this place is the absolute best I’ve ever experienced, too. Aside from the salon being cozy and beautiful, there’s an energy of openness and joy that I can’t explain. The closest I’ve ever seen to it is that of what I imagine is like at a cool barber shop - where customers and employees joke and converse openly and comfortably.

I’d consider myself a challenging customer because of how terrible my cuticles were but they look absolutely incredible now, and I’m looking forward to opening a new self-care chapter in my life with my hands.
