Produce Junction — Local services in West Whiteland Township

We love this place!! We are here about once a week and go through tons of produce. The prices are especially awesome compared to the regular grocery stores, and even better when certain produce is in-season! Every week is different though so it's worth it to go often! They keep the same normal produce but they get different things in season all the time and prices always vary which is great! Carts are usually around the parking lot you just have to find one, staff is great to us they are very efficient, there are multiple lines for checkout..(ps they only take cash just so you know!!) but you checkout your veggies separate from fruits which will make sense once you get there and this seems to be because they want to be able to move the customer lines really quick and the staff memorizes the pricing so it's much easier for them to memorize only the fruit or only the produce. I don't mind this style at all, keeps both the lines shorter! I can't even imagine how much more our food would cost if we were forced to shop at Giant or Wegmans for...

Compared to other produce junction locations, I find this one to have a poorer flower selection. The outdoor section is larger and is great for pumpkins and evergreen wreaths. Reason for the reduction in stars is the checkout process: it clogs up the front of the store and you can’t count on being rung up for the correct total. I’ve had to correct the staff member on quite a few visits of the correct total, showing it adding up on my calculator (they all do mental math). One time a staff member asked me to stop adding it up with her because “she knows how to do her job”. Today was the last straw- my husband was overcharged $20 and I didn’t notice the incorrect total on the receipt until we got home. We shouldn’t have to watch them like a hawk and double check their math. I understand a small discrepancy here and there, but $20 is a large amount to be overcharged. Great prices but count your change! This is an all cash business, no cash registers even. I handed the cashier a 20 for a $6 bunch of flowers and received $9 in change. Wait what. I showed the cashier the $9 still in my hand and reminded her I had given her $20. She insisted she had given me $14 in change (the bills were still in my hand). She only handed over another 5 when she realized I was not going to give up. If this was the only time this happened I would not be writing this review. Of the dozen times my wife and I have shopped here we have been short changed 3 or 4 times. The last time my wife did not realize the problem until getting in the car to leave. She walked back in the store 5 minutes after making her purchase only to be told there was no way they could have made a mistake and she had to suck it up. Buyer beware; no cash register, no receipt, no record. Count your change before you walk away...
