Hunter-Wayne Liquor — Local services in Westland

Went in to grab a bottle of red wine, found a bottle of Menage á Trois Silk, sounded good so I thought I would try it. Sticker price said $10.99, but when they scanned it the price came up at $13.99. I pointed out that's not what the bottle said and they said it was wrong and they would fix it. I thought they meant it rang up wrong and they would adjust the price to 10.99 but apparently THEY LABELED THE BOTTLE WITH THE WRONG PRICE, THEN INSISTED I PAY THE HIGHER PRICE ABOVE WHAT THE STICKER SAID.

I refused to pay more just on the principle of the situation. They would rather lose a customer rather than honor the price they put on their own merchandise. It's unfortunate, as they have a decent selection of beer, wine, and liquor, and are usually pretty quick to ring customers up and get them taken care of, but in this instance they decided they needed $3 more than they needed to not inconvenience a customer over their own mistake.

It's actually against the Michigan scanner law to do this, on top of being very petty and ridiculous on their part. That's not how you do business. That's not how you keep customers.

I went across the street and purchased the exact same bottle of wine at CVS for $9.99, a dollar less than their "incorrectly marked" price of $10.99, and $4 less than the price they were trying to charge...

I have been coming to this store for many years. In my 62 Years of Living I have never met or seen more professional and good-hearted people then everyone who works here. Trev and Sal treat me like im their uncle. Most guys in their position would treat someone in my position and my age not so good. (Im handicap and i dont always get treated so nice) But they're so real here and fair and show nothing but respect to me, anything they ask me to do i will do it. Basil has given me food for free that he makes for his own family. What store in 2020 will do that? Salad soup steak freshley squeezed orange juice.... He has given me all of those which means alot to me. Recently I was going through a hard time in my life and I asked for some help that my own family wouldn't help me people ive known my whole life didnt help. Saint Basil did it for me and now i am in the best position in my life. I don't think the food temp is proper. A couple of my sides tasted spoiled (black eyed peas and the rice) the oxtail and the gravy had a great flavor. Too bad I couldn't enjoy it since the rice underneath was spoiled. I really wanted to give a great review bcuz the staff was nice. The green beans and yams were good. But the cornbread had clearly been re-used from days past and was very hard and dry. They had a ton of food left well after the lunch rush which should've been a red flag. Most of the sides I saw were dried out looking. So was some of the meats like the ribs, rib tips and meat loaf. Very disappointed. I wanted to like it but it wasn't right and the majority of my food went into the trash after I got a taste of the spoiled...
