Before I say anything about the store itself, let me comment about the staff. The staff is absolutely AMAZING. Friendly, helpful, and they let you do your thing and stay out of the way. There is a security guard (especially needed on Fridays) who keeps things in order. So, as others have said this store is a relatively new concept that has grown some legs in the past 6 months. It consists of returns (and maybe overstocks and liquidations) from Amazon, Target, Kohls and who knows who else. FRIDAY is considered the holy grail as that's the "new stock" day and all items in the store are 12 dollars.......and let me tell you.....with some luck and patience, you can come across some great finds!!! I've heard stories of people finding essentially brand new cellphones, and other super electronic items! (air fryers, heaters, massage guns, mini refrigerators, etc...etc...etc..) A word of warning though....Fridays are equivalent to Walmart Black Friday videos you see on YouTube. Get there early and you'll see a line of people around the building waiting to get in. Get there 10 minutes after the store opens on Friday and you've arrived too late. The professionals have already been in and picked the place clean of the "big items." Having said that though, don't be too discouraged. There a still a gazillion diamonds to be found in the store. Saturday is 10 dollars, Sunday is 8 Dollars, Monday is 5 dollars, Tuesday is 3 dollars and Wednesday is 1 dollar day. (THURSDAY, they are closed for restock) It's highly unlikely that you'll find any "diamonds" on Monday or Tuesday, but if you look hard enough and get lucky, you can still find some emeralds and rubys lying around. As you're shopping and exploring, be advised that some of the items are in their original packaging (and you can see what it is) and some items are wrapped up in clear plastic bags and other items are in unmarked cardboard boxes. If you look on the cardboard boxes, there is sometimes a white sticker which says what's inside, but most of the time, there is not. In that case, in the back of the store, there is an unboxing station and one of the store staff will open the box for you to reveal the contents. If you don't want it....no harm, no foul...the store employee will tape it back up, write what's inside on the outside of the box, and put it back on the floor. And that is one thing thing they do ask of customers - Don't be tearing open the boxes out on the floor!! Not only is it a safety hazard, but people destroy the box and then you'll find parts missing, etc.. Some tips: if you don't like the Black Friday crowd at Walmart, avoid the store when it initially opens on Friday. The folks are savages when they attack the tables of items and you will be jostled around. "Trust but verify" - Remember, most of the items are returns. A return could be "I didn't like the color" or "it wasn't what I thought it was going to be" etc, etc......OR the item could be damaged or not work!!! And once you buy it and leave the store....TAG, you're it! There are no returns or refunds. I would say I've been stung on a few items, but thank God it was 3 dollar day and not the 12 dollar day!! If you do have the courage to brave the Friday crowd, and you're not into contact sports, sit back and watch the crowd from afar. As I said, these folks are savages! They bum rush the tables and grab anything and everything without even knowing what they're grabbing. Usually once they've had the chance to inventory what they blindly grabbed, they'll usually get rid of half of it dumping it into the nearest table. And that folks, is where you'll get lucky and find some real good items. Bring your cell phone to look up item prices and get product reviews. That air fryer you've just scored for 12 bucks could be a piece of junk and be rated 1 star. Use good judgement, don't just buy it because it's 12 bucks!!! One more thing about the staff. They do a great job of keeping the store clean and organized. By Sunday, they're consolidating tables which...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came here to just look around and I am sadly disappointed. I've been super excited for Amazon mystery boxes and finding out they had some, I took my chance. I paid 40$ for a mystery box that I wasn't able to pick up or move around (which was fine) but to get home and open the box only to find PROSTATE PILLS....80 bottles of prostate pills...I can't donate them, I can't sell them and I can't give them away. Im a female, not needing these in my life and I cannot get rid of them. Technically I can't even throw these away...there were a few other things inside the box like water bottles and atleast 50 brother signs I can do nothing with since I only have sisters, I lost out huge on that box...a few days later, I took my chance again and got another mystery box only to get a crap ton of 2024 christmas bells...luckily I can pass these out to the kids my kids play with but really? Prostate pills and christmas bells...I should never play the lottery. Also, I was searching through the bins hoping id find something decent. I came across a bag, opened with whatever it was hanging half way out. I picked it up, looked at it and casually put it back in. A man came up to me asking if I knew the rules and not to open packages...I asked him if I even did that and he said "yes, I watched you"...I was confused because THE PACKAGE WAS ALREADY OPENED and hanging out...if he watched me that close, he would have seen that, but yet the lady next to me was full on shoving her hands inside boxes and pulling stuff out, never said a word to her. The idea of this place looks great. My kids had fun scoring some cool toys, I still spent a decent amount of money but just disappointed rules applied to certain people and that the mystery boxes had legit pills inside them that shouldn't be sold(which i paid 40$ for), can't be donated, and can't even be thrown out. I did see a woman open her mystery box in store and she had alot of wigs, so, that would've been way better to get than prostate pills. Just be willing to get something horrible inside the mystery boxes if you decide to get them. May not all be bad...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have gotten so many amazing deals from this place. You never know what you will find and that is part of the fun! During my last visit I got a $90 Fold 4 case with pen NEW for $10. Also got a $170 bluetooth speaker for $10. Definitely worth a visit and it is a fun time digging through the stuff finding deals!
Update 10/3/24: After visiting a ton of bin stores throughout the state, Wild Bins has been the most consistent in quality and service than any others. Here are three reasons that Wild Bins is better than most other bin stores imo:
They don't allow people to rip open boxes. You can take a box to the counter to be opened, inspected, and resealed. This insures that all items remain intact for the next interested buyer. Once an item has been opened and resealed they will write the contents on the box or tape an amazon print out of the item. Stores that don't maintain this rule just end up having bins full of random parts of ripped opened items that are worthless.
Good vibes. The friendly staff are always monitoring the store and making sure everyone is civil and following the rules. If they see you opening a box, you will be politely called out and warned. If you have questions, they are always happy to help. They will even show you how to scan barcodes to identify items. There is always a nice vibe in the store and they play good music.
They consistently restock. Wild Bins puts out more stock than any other bin store I have been to in Michigan. They have pallets lined up at all times at the back of the store ready to drop. It is always a real treasure hunt and I never know what to expect.
From the friendly staff to the great deals, this is a great local business that I am...
