Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever experienced. There's a reason why when you make reservations at a Chinese buffet, you should always count how many people are part of your party. Why? It's because there's a chance that they will overcount and overcharge you.
Guess what Hibachi Grill Supreme Buffet did? They overcounted our party of 30 by six people. Their staff claimed that they came over to our area and counted 36 people multiple times. I told them that I waited by the front door until each guest arrived, counted each person as they came in, didn't sit down until the last person arrived, and then recounted at the table. They didn't believe me.
My cousins and I explained to them that not all of the seats were filled at each table and people were moving from table to table to talk to each other but they refused to believe us. They claimed to have experience in counting large parties and that they recognize who they've counted before.
Ummm hello? Wrong. They don't know each person in our party, but we do. Unfortunately they didn't budge and still charged us for 36 people. The worst part is we were coming from a funeral so they made our day even worst.
I'm a fair reviewer so let me tell you about their food and drinks:
I've never seen a buffet that offered one tray of beef and broccoli and a second tray of chicken and broccoli. This is essentially the same. A row of trays were empty (we dined during dinner on a Sunday) No spoons by the soup station, they directed me to grab a plastic spoon We waited 10 minutes for a server to come by to take our drink order for a table of six and waited another 10 minutes for our drinks Noticed some dirt on the stir fry mushroom dish, pretty sure it wasn't thoroughly cleaned
Now from a scale from 1-10 (10 = amazing)
Green beans - 5 (not very flavorful) Chicken & broccoli - 5 Black pepper chicken - 3 (mainly tasted breading) Crab Rangoon - 7 (good amount of cream cheese and nice crisp) Lo mein - 3 Hot & sour soup - 5 Fried rice - 3 Fried dough - 6 Mozzarella sticks - 2 Mint chocolate chip ice cream - 7
Tip for future large parties: Count the number of guests with the server to ensure they are accurately counting the guests correctly
I wouldn't recommend coming here due to their poor service and charge of $16.99 for meh food, little options and little seafood (shrimp...
Read moreIt is hard for me to give a local, small business, a failing mark, but I was very misled by the Hibachi Grill's rating, so I want to try to set the record straight, and perhaps provide a few simple ideas that might help it in the future.
You have to pay up front, before you eat. A wonderful grumpy lady, who was caged in a glass box, and was clearly there under duress, took our money. She was kind enough to answer our exasperating questions that were beneath her time and effort. With such a warm cheerful welcome, and starving empty stomachs, we decided to stay, and eat anyway.
After deciding on our beverages up front, my wife and I paid the lady in the glass box thirty four dollars, and she was kind enough to provide us each with a plastic fork and spoon. I guess a plastic knife would be too tempting, and I dare not speculate what temptation it would provoke, but I guessed actual metal cutlery was not an option either, so I did not bother to ask for it.
We were seated, and a nice person brought me a coke, and a timely refill later in our meal. The coke actually tasted good too. As of late, I have found more and more expensive restaurants fail to manage their soda fountains, and their drinks are unpalatable, so the coke tasted good. Which brings me to the food. Although the food was edible, I would not say that it reached the heights of good. Although they had a number of dishes, you didn't run the risk of paralysis of indecision from an abundance of choices.
At a buffet, I like to select a little bit of everything until my plate is comfortably full. I eat my plate clean, and go back for more of what I liked from my first sampling, and sample that which I missed in my first outing. Sady, there was not much I cared to have more of, and there was even less that I felt I missed from my first sampling.
The restaurant was clean, and even though the signs asking its guests not to waste food seems tasteless, I understand how a buffet might not bring out the conscientious eater in one. In the end, if you are like me, you only have time, and money, to eat out once in a while, so I have to say it will be a long while before I visit the Hibachi Grill and...
Read moreI have been going with my spouse to Hibachi's for years, but since the pandemic they have gotten worse in their food selection and customer service and it honestly breaks my heart. My spouse and I went on a Saturday afternoon. The first thing that caught my eye was the cafeteria style seating in the front, which worried me that my dinner would be spent over there since it felt exposing, luckily that ended up not being the case and we were seated at the booth by the front desk staff who have always been nice. Like I stated, the food selection has gotten worse, I used to go only for the calamari and it felt like that was the first out of a list of items they have started to slowly take away, replacing them with foods that clearly came from a package. For example, the non ice cream desserts, in which there was a very limited selection, which would have been fine if three out of the five options wasn't clearly Ho Hos, Nutter Butters, and store bought cookies.
What really bothered me was a female waitress that serviced us later into the meal. When my spouse was done with his food, he left his fork on the plate. The lady tells him that he should keep his fork, which was fine until he stated he was full and no longer required a fork, to which she basically demanded that he keep his fork, ignoring what he just told her. I decided to give the desserts a try but ended up being too full to eat the Ho Ho and Nutter Butter I had on my plate, I decided to wrap them up in a napkin to take home. While putting on my coat this same waitress takes the napkin covered food from the table with the dishes, and demanded, again, that I pay her a dollar for two food items that were going to be thrown away anyway and clearly did not require much effort to display. We only had about 4 plates in total amongst us both so this really bothered me and now makes me question if Hibachis is even worth going to...
