Four (Three*) stars for the interior cleanliness, the increased appearance of security/safety efforts, and a fairly well-staffed line of cashiers at the registers (granted I came on a Sunday evening, not sure how this place fairs on a weekday evening) while the missing star is for the lack of service. Granted, my expectations are never high when entering a Walmart but that doesn't mean there's a bell curve...oh, wait. Then I shouldn't have added the 4th start.
As tapping on 3-stars would say, "it's okay." I think for most people who know Wal-mart already and maybe want to use this review because they're not familiar with this location, here's the down low: although it's not known for being a highly seedy area, there's a good chance you'll run into a straggler either on the outskirts of the parking lot or on your way out of the parking lot. The customers are a fair mix of various ethnicities and for cleanliness, the floors and shelves are kept the best they can but it's another one of those places where people working are mostly indifferent or in their own world. In summary, it's not a Walmart I'd avoid nor is it one I feel content on spending leisurely time taking a look around. It's basically in the middle between the bad and the good.
As fot specific to my most recent trip, I couldn't get the help I needed at the cashier area and even after exaggerating my frustrations with a few grumbles and mumbles and taking pictures with my phone of the kiosk I was using, I got no reaction from any employees and more customers looked my way more than anything (well, one customer which is still more than 0 mind you, lol). I ended up walking out without making a purchase but if there's one thing that stands out from memory is how oddly set up they have guests entering the store as part of their COVID-19 measures.
It's like, why didn't you just set up the line on the other side or for the exiting customers too??? Instead they have it in a way where those waiting in line to enter the store must cross an intersection with the store's exiting door and the guests coming out of it, creating this crosswalk-like stop sign, wait a minute, look both ways before you cross, but wait for the Walmart employee to give you an okay to cross sort of deal just to get in the store. But wait, guests coming out have priority and have the path that goes straight out to the parking lot. And, of course there's like 5 employees "checking" eveyone while no clear indication of who's directing traffic per say so I'm literally waiting behind one family to cross because they keep turning to each of the 5 employees to get some sort of affirmation to walk across. It makes you wonder if their employees watching the door are on their break and facing the line to watch how guests handle this little intersection they've set up as a joke or are actually working. I mean seriously, you couldn't just make another exiting lane that turns right immediately after the exit doors so that the entering line can continuously flow moving forward instead of making stop n'...
Read moreI cannot believe the extremely low level of customer service at this store today. My very first time here after relocating from the Riverside area. I was so excited to see some of their fine jewelry on sale. With these difficult times lately, I have been unable to give a birthday gift to any of my children or grandchildren. While waiting for help to arrive as the jewelry department did not have any associates around. I had to seek out help which wasn't very convenient either. I looked and got excited waiting for someone to come. Finally, here is Mary to help. I began to tell her I had just stopped to look for an anklet. I immediately told her that I was going to choose quite a few pieces to purchase. Then, there went a sigh from her mouth, loud enough to draw my attention to her. It just escalated from there. Each piece of jewelry she pulled from the case or turnaround, she made it known that it annoyed her when I would ask to look at it out of the case. Each time and would quickly stock it in her pocket along with all my other ones and, truthfully speaking, I did not find that very professional. The very first item I wanted was an anklet. Only 2 in the whole dept. She couldn't get the lock on the plexiglass to turn so she said it was broken and she couldn't get into it so I couldn't purchase it. I said ok. Would you mind then if I could ask you to notify a manager for me? She said, he won't open it either, and it will have to probably be security. I once again did ok. Would you please call a manager over to your depth. So I may speak to one. She never did. She called a floor clerk and when he an my to open it, he said, it's just plastic, pull it out little and the lock bypassed the plexiglass and it was open, easy. She literally grabbed the earrings out of m hand because you could see she was really agitated. I am very respectful to everyone, even when they are not to me. After she grabbed it out of my hand and walked away, I said to her, I would have been happy to hand the earrings that I was looking at. There was no need to grab them out of my hand. She just kept walking. Even the kid who was supposedly the manager, could see that she was not showing any professional customer service towards me, yet, he never even bothered to ask me if something was wrong. The worst experience in a store that I hand ever had. On my way to pay my $300 bill, I experienced 1 more manger and 1 associate who had the same poor attributes as Mary. I don't even have the time to explain about the front end cashier. I plan on visiting that store tomorrow and hopefully have a conversation with the store director. I always thought Huntington Beach was a classy city. I am having real doubts about that. I definitely sound never recommend this Walmart to...
Read moreOn February 16, 2016, I purchased and had installed at the Walmart#02495 located at 13331 Beach Blvd, Westminster, CA, four (4)Goodyear Eagle Sport tires for my Audi. The next day I noticed the tire sensor reading low air, I thought nothing of it because I attributed the sensor leak to the store filling the tires with oxygen and not nitrogen as I usually have done. I don't drive the car except on occasionally on weekends and today February 23, 2016, we noticed the drivers side rear tire was flat. We took the car into Walmart after putting air into the tire and we were told the tire had industrial staple on the inside wall of the tire, thus the tire could not be repaired. The manager stated that she could not do anything about it because we never purchased the tire protection option and thus we were out of luck. I have five vehicles and everyone of them has Goodyear All-season tires because I have been a life long customer of Goodyear and Walmart, but this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. The reason I am bothered is the manager Yvonne Thomas inferred that I was a liar because she asked if we had been offered the tire protection package at purchase and we stated we had not, she then stated that the employee who installed the tires stated that he had asked us therefore inferring that I was a liar. This behavior and customer service is atrocious, unprofessional and at the very least not anything near providing the quality service Walmart strives to achieve. I was told I must now purchase another tire when I just purchased four (4) new ones. I am incensed and perturbed that I must spend another $160.00 just because this issue was missed when the tires were installed. The notion that I could in any manner have damaged the tires myself is ridicules at best more so because of where and when the damage was noticed and located. I would like you and your company to attempt to resolve this issue immediately in a manner that would satisfy me as your customer, and promote the customer service and professionalism that Goodyear and Walmart advertises and strives for. I have a number of classic cars and daily use cars and have been a lifelong customer of Goodyear please rectify this matter to both our satisfaction preferably a new tire to replace the tire that went flat with less than 190...
