TLDR They will punish you for being clean/sanitary. THEY CHARGE $2 per cup, if you ask for water in a to-go cup… I used to stop by this restaurant many times with my wife. As a local business owner, I would also invite different clients to eat here. I became friends with some servers and made sure to tip them well each time I ate here. Whenever my wife and I ate here, we would always ask for water in disposable “to-go” cups because we have had some bad experiences in the past with dirty cups. The last time I visited, the server let me know they would have to charge me for to-go cups. The type of cups they use are Dart brand foam cups (not sure if it’s 12 or 16 oz). At Costco, 1000 16oz Dart foam cups go for $79.99, which comes out to around 8 cents per cup. The last time I visited, they charged me FOUR DOLLARS ($4) for 2 WATERS in a TO-GO cup. $2 a cup is WAY TOO MUCH. I would pay 50 cents, maybe a dollar at most. It feels like they are trying to punish me for being clean. I told the server to pass on a message to the owner, are these two disposable cups worth losing long time customers? For the record, I didn’t get a reply from the owner. I made sure to tip well, since it was not the server’s fault, but that was the last time I stopped by. Since then I have been to many restaurants in the area and still have not found a single restaurant that has charged me AT ALL for water in to-go cups, let alone TWO DOLLARS. Everywhere else offers this FOR FREE. In the end, two dollars may not be much, but it strongly implies that you do not value me as a customer or my satisfaction. That pushes me away. Needless to say, I will not be recommending this restaurant to my...
Read moresuper rude owner, told us to sit in a table in the corner next to the door when the table next to it had 5 people seated which meant an extra chair. how were we supposed to fit? We then asked the waiter if we can sit at another table since there was one available and no other guests waiting, the waiter agreed and let us sit at the other table. the owner returns and yells at the waiter for letting us sit there saying “they can not sit wherever they want” then proceeded to rolls his eyes, walk up to us and say “ go back to the other table like i told you to, this is a table for 6 people.” when clearly it was not. It was a table for 2 and a separate table for 4. We did not say anything else and just left. Also keep in mind, covid was still a thing and we did not want to eat when someones back is leaning...
Read moreMy mom loves com tam and after trying out so many places in OC, this is the place to go. They make mainly com tam and with an exception of pho and bun.
We got #5 broken rice with shredded pork skin, egg cake, and bbq pork and added a fried egg. Their egg cake is fresh not dry. The bbq pork is so flavorful, tender and moist. Their shredded pork skin is not the best because it’s too much skin to meat ratio.
Got #46 rice vermicelli with bbq pork and egg roll. How you judge this dish is by the meat and the bbq pork is super moist and flavorful.
We’ve ordered here numerous times and their bbq pork does not disappoint. There’s every combo you can think of.
There’s parking but it’s a bit sketchy with the homeless population becoming violent to each other...
