Due to their "not telling" Mom that she could appeal a "medication denial" from insurance, she probably had to spend $20,000-$30,000 on the medication that was denied. After I pressed them on it a little, they reluctantly told me that you could appeal via your doctor (which of course we did immediately) it was approved within a couple of days. +/- $20,000 - $30,000 later. When I asked the Walgreens Pharmacy people "how come you never told Mom she could appeal it and possibly get it covered?" the Walgreens answer was basically "that's not our problem". Thanks Walgreens, you are really great people. We understand, Mom is disabled and a senior citizen, and everyone from pharmacists to various (but not all) doctors and medical-type people, even police - treat senior citizens like garbage (including both the Norwalk and Westport Police). I went in the store with my phone on hold for 20 minutes watched the staff behind the pharmacy counter pickup and place calls back on hold with only 2 people waiting in line. When it came to my turn I put the phone on speaker and showed the counter staff and they had no reply because THERE IS NO EXCUSE for their terrible service.
