Okay so I realized the one down the street that they moved out of perhaps was a little too large but this one is way too small everything is crammed in here I can't imagine Christmas time it's a random Friday night before Labor Day and you can't even move in there not to mention the inventory has gotten way worse .. the stores in mess all I could think to get in there was a towel... Then I get to the checkout and there's a huge line except the difference between here and say TJ Maxx is there was one cashier the one down the street was not that bad the Burlington down the street they had more cashiers they had much better inventory quality inventory at times this is all junk this is like one step up from Dollar tree. I was excited to go in here but they really screwed this one up. That's okay the one in Hoffman estates is not that far away although that one's not very good either at least she can move in there. This location I believe was the former Marshals which moved ironically down near where the Burlington used to be.

Burlington (Coat Factory)… where I was taken as a kid to shop for winter coats, has become so much more! Rediscovered a year or two ago… they truly do have some great home (bedding, decor, etc) that is wayyy better priced than one of my other most favorite home stores. (; the clothing is hit or miss, but if you hit the prices are extremely fair. Here is a sampling of some pretty cute home decor from the Arlington Heights location!

Lack of cashiers and very slow. It was painfully obvious that they do not care about huge lines. Line wrapped around the end and someone just picking up hangers while everyone waits.

This store has good selection of merchandise most of the times. But that’s where the good stuff ends. I have been going to this store mostly because it’s closer to where my best friend lives. So it’s our preferred location to shop later in the night, while shopping together at a times when there are less people in the store. But since a few times we both have been having terrible experience, including last night, 06/30/2021. We came in to the store at 9:30pm and we were almost done by 10:15pm - at which point we could already hear announcements about the store closing at 11pm. We were about to head out at this point trying to check the size of some tees with the sample that we had got, since we cannot try them on. Within 5 mins there were as many as 3 associates who came to us to mention that they will be closing soon and we need to hurry. (Hey we could hear the announcements, right). At this point we were irked and headed towards the checkout. The store did not have many customers at this time and one person was being helped at the payment counter. There were two open cash registers with one lady and one gentleman behind them. When the lady got done with her pervious customer my friend moved towards the counter. However lady looked at her and without even saying a word left. So now we are left with one cashier who happens to be the last associate trying to hurry us out of the store. I had a few returns (with receipts and without) and a few purchases. Without any greeting or acknowledgment, the cashier Caleb started my checkout. When I told him I have returns he annoyingly took the return bag from me and then the id. He was almost throwing the Id and receipts back and I don’t know if its just a bad day at this location of BCF or my bad luck or something else. My friend also received similar behavior and was very annoyed. We both were out of the store by 10:40pm which is a good 20 mins before the store closes. I have worked with BCF in another location a few years back and was mostly on closing shifts. Not sure if something changed about the way we treat customers with dignity and respect, since the time I left my job. I called up the manager the next day to describe my ordeal and he was pretty defensive about the treatment we received. I also told him that few months back, I was also faced with a similar situation in the same store location. He said he will check and get back to me. BCF gets a lot of customers who might not be able to even raise a flag about the kind of harassment they have faced in the store for no reason at all. Maybe they should consider closing the store earlier if they want the customers out earlier. Going through the reviews I can see a lot of people mentioning the same kind of experience with the cashier and manager and I am not surprised. I always like shopping at Burlington because of the value for money, but will not return to this location - not after 9...

Stay away or else you'll be ripped off!

I just can't put it to words what an awful experience I've had at this Burlington Coat Factory location. First of all, there were no associates present on the sales floor, not a single one. The sizes of their apparel were seriously mixed up, I ended up looking at the XXL sizes finding M sizes.

Shoes..dirty and disorganized. I don't know if someone swapped their old shoes for new ones and walked out, I'd think so, however a few pair of those old shoes had the security tag lock still attached.. Interesting. Do two left shoes suit your taste? I found some amazing shoes which I was definitely going to buy, however they were both left shoes, I didn't even bother looking for an associate to help me with that, I doubt I'd even find one.

I went into the fitting rooms, and to my surprise they were quite clean, but obviously no associate was there to take back the merchandise from me or direct me to the right stall.. but whatever, that's cool.

The worst thing I believe is how ripped off I've been by their $9.99 promotional sale on socks. They were each marked at $2.99, sitting right there below the colossal display "5 pairs for $9.99!" Obviously I gave in and bought some.

So I went toward checkout area, oh boy, they herd you like sheep with those stanchions! Thankfully there weren't busy but if they were I bet this would have looked like O'hare on a busy day.

So I get to my checkout, put my items on the counter and Patrick, the cashier just stared at me with emptiness in his eyes, didn't say a word, which made me obviously uncomfortable. After a few moments of this stare down he slowly grabbed my items, placed them in an orderly fashion with the bar-codes up and finally with all his might and strength the man reached for his scan-gun and slowly started to scan my merchandise.

During this awkward silence I have already forgotten about the promotion, which was going to be applied automatically, like it is at any other normal stores... By now I was seriously wondering if I'd have to bag the stuff myself.

I grabbed the receipt and left, it isn't until I got home I realized I've been overcharged. I called the store and asked for a manager - manager answered... said to call back tomorrow and to ask for a manager. What? Okay.

Now I'm being tired of all this phone tag, so I call their corporate office, and to add to my misery, when I hear the voice of the person on the other side who sounds like I just interrupted their sleep.. I know I am finished. At least I did...

In the morning I bought an item that I didn't notice that was defective. In the afternoon I went back to see if they had the same item which they didn't. I went to checkout to ask for help from the cashier and manager. The cashier told the manager and the manager said that she can only give me 5%. I told the cashier that I would like a greater discount like 10% because 5% was like a few cents and that at that point it wasn't even worth asking for a discount (the item had a big hole). She went to asked the manager and she looked like I offended her in how much I asked for. In a rude tone the manager said "fine." As the cashier was recharging me for the item the manager told the cashier that I wouldn't be able to return the item. The cashier was also giving attitude and informed me that I won't be able to return the item if they give me the discount. I wasn't expecting to get treated the way I did. Unfortunately this inclines me to come less to this location, but I will never come during the closing shift. The only way I would come to this location is during the morning where the staff is very friendly...
